Hey guys!
I've posted about this before but I am still having trouble finding any pertinent information/sources regarding this topic. I am a college sophomore pursuing a bs in biochemistry at UW Milwaukee. I am attempting to transfer to UW Madison to pursue a bs in pharmacology/toxicology. I have a copy of Foye's Medicinal Chemistry to look over. I still feel quite lost as to what courses I should be taking. I obviously am pursuing chem/math courses but aside from that I am taking psych courses as well. Are there any american pharmacologists who would be willing to dole out some info? Even if you aren't an american id still like to hear what you have to say but from what I've come to understand about education in this field specifically european schools are set up differently. I am over the recreational aspect to the knowledge and im trying to make a serious career of it. I fear being marginalized and excluded for my beliefs especially after witnessing the drama over the drug czar of englands decisions. I also resent and worry about the trivial distrust and dislike amongst the well known pharmacologists who've become well known through psychedelic research in america. A final worry is about cases like that of Dr. Loren Moshen. I am asking in the most polite manner if you have achieved your degree what must I do to achieve the same for myself? Also what is the field like? Could you elaborate on your day to day? Thanks guys!

PS: I have looked into joining the ACS but I cannot tell whether or not they will help. I also (attempt to) read my subscription to the british assoc of psychopharmacology's journal. Is the comparable American Psychiatric Society (I believe their name is) journal as reputable and as intriguing?
