Benzos Help please! :(

Okay so it's been over 24 hours of no Alprazolam. Having difficulty sleeping but that could be the adderal I took today to get me through work. I feel weak. I havent gotten one drop of sleep all night. My body almost feels sore. Can anyone tell me how many days i would have to go where I can feel completely safe that I'm going to be seizure free? It's just bugging me in the back of my mind. And the thing that sucks, is I have to hide this from my whole entire family. So I have to fake act okay around them.

Update: going on 48 hours. Was feeling TERRIBLE this morning. Possibly was all physiological? Finally took a melatonin and got like an hour and half sleep. I feel refreshed. A whole hell of a lot better. Cigs disgust me atm though. :(

whats benzo wd like i take 4 to 14mg of xanax a day for like 10 ro 14 days a month and stop cause my script is gone for the rest of the month and all i've ever got was some rebound anxiety

Do you really stop cold turkey for 10 days straight on that large of a dose? Or are you trollIing? Haha

i had 2 seizures a week or two apart like 4 years ago when i was abusing xanax. i only did like 3mg every other day, never everday. i thought having my day inbetween made it all good. well...when i had those seizures and went to the hospital and they told me i had xanax in my system, i automatically assumed the xanax withdrawal did it. but heres the thing...i didnt have any other side effects other than maybe just feeling a little weird mentally. just that uncomfortable feeling you have when your trying to stop benzos cold turkey.

now, 2012, after doing alot of reading and researching, im finding the reason i had the seizures was bc i was prescribed tramadol, 100mg per day, sometimes 200mg per day. i found out ultram (tramadol) lowers your seizure threshold. i have NEVER heard of that until i started on this forum regularly. so looking back now, i dont think i would have had those seizures if i wasnt taking the tramadol. im not using this to say i can go back to doing whatever i want, bc i did learn something from that.

But what do you guys think? no seizures ever in my life, before, or after those two that were close together. i think i was like 4 or 5 days without doing any benzos, but i was using ultram instead, and lots of it. and i never had flu like symptoms, or any of the other stuff you hear people mention with benzo withdrawal. I DID, have alot of nightmares when i quit cold turkey. really real ones. but do you guys think it was the ultram, the benzos, or both? do you think if it was just the benzos, maybe 10mg a week total average, i shoulda been able to cold turkey that? i did quit cold turkey when the seizures happened, and it took me a few months to feel "normal" again. but if i knew for sure it wasnt just the xanax, it would be a relief to me.

i know benzos arent safe, but it just seems like i would have had more warning signs other than, surprise! your having a seizure!

I understand. That's what my biggest fear is. But I'm not on any muscle relaxers or ultram or whatever you said. It was only the benzos like a bar and a half tops in 1 day for around a week. I had major withdrawal symptoms this morning but they seem to be clearing up!

benzo withdrawal can come and go over a long period of time. if you can get ahold of some depakote that will almost eliminate your chances of having seizures, without the risk of further addiction. but, in the interest of HR it can cause liver damage and shouldnt be used without a doctor's supervision.

best of luck with getting through it, if you can make it don't go back to using every day! benzo w/ds are the worst and the most dangerous.

I'm definitely staying off them. I'm getting put on zoloft on Tuesday anyway. I'll tough it out hopefully. Pray for me all, no seziures, no er. Please.

make sure you are honest with your doctor about your w/d syndrome. i don't know much about zoloft but like many drugs it could decrease seizure threshold. your doctor won't judge you and will give you props for getting clean.

I'm just gonna tell him everything. If I tell him straight up I got them on the black market he won't like call the cops and have me arrested will he? Lol I'm only 19 btw

Update. Going on 72 hours and I'm actually starting to be able to think clearly? Or maybe my minds playing tricks, but I can actually focus on things and think! W00t! Feels good! Aha

Edit: slight chest pain. Heartburn or something. Probably very mild "panic attacks" whenever I used to get panic attacks my heart would hurt so I'm assuming its just a minor panic attack.
