Heroin Help me please, withdrawing and cant find a vein.

Ouch. Saw my good friend do that once and it looked pretty painful...glad your bf is ok.

To the OP: If I'm having a lot of trouble finding veins, as someone above said, hot showers are great...bring your shot into the bathroom, and try again when you get out of the hot water. 99 times out of a hundred you will find a bunch of veins that hadn't been visible before. Also, your legs are an good place to inject if you want to keep your habits more under wraps...I have been using my legs almost exclusively for awhile now, there are tons of veins in your thighs.
 
I went to the hospital today, I had to have an MRI scan with contrast, even the nurses were suprised and couldnt find a vein in my arm. The ended up using a very fine one in the back of my hand, the only one they could find. I asked them if there was any others, they were pretty cool with me, they couldn't find any for me/them, they didn't want to use the one in the back of my hand and even had to ask me during the injection if they was in properly as it was so fine, and to let them know if it was hurting/they was missing.

I managed to use the fine one in the back of my hand when I got home, but that only worked once, and I feel like shit. I can't wait to get my methadone in the morning, then I think I am going to have to go in my groin tommorow. I don't know how to do it, and I don't have any user friends so I need to find out how online. I'm scared of groin injecting but I think its the only way.

I am reading the thread on bluelight now, there are some safer options in the thread so I might be able to find something safer.
 
Intramuscular injection. Quadriceps, deltoid, or glute. Sorry about being a broken record on this matter.

It's very common for users who have killed their veins to IM. Can someone please fill me in on why this is not a solution? Seriously
 
I've heard bad things about intramuscular injection, especially with Citric(I'm from the UK, we have to use an acid to break it down).

Reading the post on femoral injecting, I will not go into the femoral vein if I can avoid it.

I will make sure all other options are exhausted before that, as I am only 24, been injecting for a few years. I should have veins available. It's not just me that can't find them though, even nurses can't.
 
Also, I was reading in a HR thread about the fingers. How on earth can you get a pin into one of them tiny veins? Even if I did get it in, I'm pretty sure it would rupture.
 
Nurses arnt magical, I've found that I'm way better at hitting myself than nurses. In my experience nurses usually ask junkies where to hit. We know our bodies way better. I have I get pic lines put in when I go to the hospital but can usually hit myself on the 2nd or 3rd try. So just cuz the drs can't hit u doesn't mean it's hopeless. I don't know you but I bet I could hit you in under 5 minutes ;)

You maay well be able to hit me, i wish you could lol! Thing is, when i associated with other users, if they couldn't hit themselves, it would be me they would get to do it. They joked I was like a vampire, being able to find a nice rush of blood anywhere.
Unfortuneately that is not the case with me. How I wish I had arms like others.
 
Is it usual for the tiny veins to only work once? The one on the back of my wrist was tiny, only worked once( Although I can feel it a bit further up, think it will come back eventually) and I found another very small one on my right arm. I hit it up very slowly, but it still bruises really bad and I can no longer feel the vein.

When my larger ones worked this never happened, there was minimal, if any bruising, and they coul be hit repeatedly.

Any one else have this trouble?
 
If your goal is to avoid being sick just mix anal, nasal, and oral... The more surface area you cover the more you can get in. You might even end up feeling it more than iv.

Agreed. Just because many addicts shoot subQ and IM out of desperation doesn't mean it's a good idea.

OP, if you're 100% positive your only options are neck, dick, and groin then I think you need to take a hard look in the mirror and realize it might be time to quit. Or at the very least, take a break and let your veins come back. What's going on with the methadone?

Shooting in those three places will buy you more time, sure. But at what cost? When IVing in those places, abscesses are the least of your worries. And even if you don't die or lose a limb, you'll stop being able to hit there too and then what? Might as well quit or take a break now.
 
It's the withdrawal, I only am using to stop getting sick. I'm on 55ML of methadone, my keyworker is trying to get this increased so I can stop.

I can't insufflate, as this is UK gear. The thing is, I haven't ruined my veins in the way I know other people have, I should have veins, they are just not there/visible/feelable. I found one on the back of my thumb today, that goes along the arm, that on most people is fairly juicy, on me it looks more like a blood vessel. I had to go in it super slow.

How I wish I was built like some people, they have amazing veins.
 
I know that there are viens in the rist, they stuck me in the ER there when they were too stupid to figure out how to get one in my upper arm, elbow crease. Anyway I have never shot up before so Im not totally sure but I heard about people shooting in their feet and behind their ears, even inbetween their toes and fingers. I don't know if anyone has tried these viens but if so maybe they can go into more detail. Also can you smoke it? or another method? or are those useless now? Ive never done herion so yeah just trying to help.
