As some of you may be aware, the longtime benefactor of Bluelight, the generous soul that paid for us to keep running, passed away not long ago. After discussing our options, we decided to raise funds via member donations. We're roughly halfway to our goal of keeping Bluelight active with a month to go before the end of the year. We're counting on those of you who appreciate what this forum offers to donate what you can. All we need is 300 out of the thousands of members we have to donate $10 by January 1st. As much as this site has given us over the years, I think $10 is a steal.

I had no idea how close we were accually coming to losing BL..... i assume it's going to go down if the bill isn't paid. I don't know how much i'm going to be able to pledge but i'll be able to drop in something the last week of this year. Merry christmas BL and hopefully happy celebrating a new year.

I know this this site has helped me and many others stay alive, relatively unscathed, with free legal advice taking our favorite party favors. It's also given tons of support and advice to people, as well as thought provoking discussions on music, science, politics, current events and philosophy. If you have any means to help out a forum that has helped so many others directly or indirectly...help.
 
Even if you have no money to donate, you can help by taking surveys like this one in our Drug Studies forum. Companies and Research Institutes often give donations to Bluelight for our participation in these surveys.
 
If I had more than 95 cents in the bank, i'd give it to bluelight. Thats a real bummer to hear the news.
 
Pending whether identification is required for purchasing an international money order, I will be mailing in my donation.

I know it has already been said, but we need a more anonymous way to donate. Something like e-gold or an equivalent, it would certainly make it easier for me to donate regularly.
 
Bluelight has helped me out so much over the last few years. Honestly, without the helpful info provided by this site i would probably be dead. A lot of people here spend hella money on there substances, def. put in that $10. I for sure will.

You should be able to simply purchase the money orders and leave your name off, or use an alias. I know I used to send blank international moneyorders back in the day.

Cool, that's awesome! I'll send one off then.

I have some local friends and fellow bluelighters that I will encourage to donate as well. This place has been an excellent resource for all of us and I can't imagine it not continuing.
 
done! i was just thinking about donating a few days ago but didn't realize it was actually needed so badly. i can't barely support myself these days but i can afford $10 for a site that helps me & so many others so much.

We should put a thread like this in every forum, because despite the notices that said donate around here i had no idea how close it's coming to accually losing this place and perhaps others are the same way.


edit : i really do need to pay attention more, i managed somehow to miss the thing at the top.... just scrolled past it like i do on so many other websites.

I think sending all $300 donuts would still be a steal for all the information thats at my fingertips. I think I can do a small chunk of that once I get in town and deposit my checkzors, and setup pay-pal or something, nothing wrong with sharing what I'v been blessed with. Im interested in having some anonymity in doing this, but as far as I'm concerned I should be able to support a community such as this harassment free.

If I may ask, about how much does it cost to host bluelight annually, in US dollars?
