Help! I iv'd diazepam

no. we really havent all been there. i know i havent (dont IV) and im sure that there are some IV users that arent complete fucking retards.



for the original poster please go to the doctor. if not at least go talk to a pharmacist or something because it sounds like u fucked up and it could be serious (idk anyhting about this just going by the other posts)
 
IT sounds different from when you just miss a shot into you're arm becouse you say you still in pain ...
Ive IVed many pills over the years, im sure ive missed some too but it always healed fine .
 
Well as I was talking about 'we' as in IV drug users John203, you didn't really apply. And you do not have to be a "complete fucking retard" to go ahead and inject something you know you really shouldn't. I think it's called being human.
 
The issue isn't the spot on his arm that is hurting, it's the big glob of goo traveling through his veins on its way to his heart. Hospital, son.

yeah STUPID IDEA but ive seen people do it without ill side effects, just because their arm hurts doesn't mean they have to rush to the ER

just don't do it again
 
^^ Yeah, I hear you, but, in the name of harm reduction, & in this particular instance, I'd say better safe than sorry, and get it checked out by the trauma department. But, then again, I care about my life & limb more than I care about what some medical personnel think about me...:\
 
^^^Yes, being called a junky, despite if it might be true, especially by so-called medical "professionals" makes my blood boil, i have to RESTRAIN physical violence so they cant legally put me into some "72 hour" psych-ward observation. Making me think about it, ahh.........

There are times for medical intervention, and times NOT for medical intervention. Ive had to go as far as to lance my own abcesses, deal with overdoses, set bones etc. But, there are times when you have to submit (i have a HARD time doing this) to medical aid, especially when the sore on your arm turns into something dangerous.

Essentially, if your missed shot turns into something that doesnt go away in 3-4 days, if the injection site starts generating heat, and if you get an oral FEVER (over 102), medical attention may be necessary.

Yes this is a harm reduction site, but use discretion. None of us want to get "red-flagged" for a false OD or get labelled a "drug addict", but if the situation is DIRE, then you have to deal with the inevitable bullshit.........

amnesiaseizure/lukedm5/staind rose: thanks, i rang a friend and he said pretty much what you did, and that we've done worse before and been ok, and not to panic and keep an eye on it.

so i'm sitting there looking at my arms and i realise the arm i used wasn't the arm giving me pain.

*slaps head*

the other arm is a little painful and it looks kinda like someone grabbed me... which i could have easily forgotten in my state at the time if it hurt. i'm keeping an eye on it.

ddood/axl: well yeah i thought i felt something but that could have been a placebo. as i said i was drunk at the time. i passed out about half an hour later.

chasem: half a valium, but i left heaps in the spoon, so maybe only a quarter. i don't usually do it, no. when i was younger i used to do all kinds of stupid shit with my bf at the time, haven't done anything like that in over a year, and hadn't injected anything in 3 months. just fell off the wagon i guess, with a little help from another stupid person.

dingo dave: it happened a while ago now (40+ hours) so i'm hoping my heart will be ok. :\

ahhh yes it's like the fuckin walk of shame isn't it? :\ oh well, sometimes you really have to bite the bullet, even if you are afraid you might be over reacting. one time I got a little scared because part of a rig tip broke inside my forearm. now I think about it I prolly shouldn't have gotten it checked out, and the dirty looks sucked, but like they say it is better safe than sorry.

I totally understand (probably because I love the poppy, too...). I think that it's completely unprofessional, and I hate seeing it done to people... :\

yes, when i overdosed once on VERY strong heroin in florida, the paramedics in the ambulance said "whats the point? she's just a junkie"

thats encouraging. actually, im fine, thanks for your fucking concern assholes. i understand it may be annoying to save people from stupid shit, but HEY ITS YOUR JOB i don't need smart ass remarks. i paid over 1k for you to uh, give me some narcan.

I don't care if some jumped up paramedic thinks that being a 'junkie' warrants less care and attention than other more 'vital' emergencies. As far as I'm concerned they can go and fuck themselves, who's to say that someone's heart attack wasn't caused through eating all kinds of crap throughout his/her life when we all know that a good diet is essential to a healthy heart. And what about people who get knocked down in car accidents? I'm not saying everyone here ok, but I sure don't believe that every traffic accident was doing their upmost best to look both ways and walk calmly and without haste across the road.

Many of our decisions leave us in positions we wish we never had to encounter but hey, that's life. And that is why we have a health service. Maybe it's coming from the UK where we have a free health service and so coming to believe that all people have a right to good health, I dunno. I just cannot stand this bullshit hierachy of who 'deserves' to be treated with care and who doesn't.

overdosing on a drug IS a medical emergency just as "real" as any other emergency.

the hospital provided a service, i payed good money for it. they should be profesional and just do their jobs.

I suppose someone that is skiing and hits a tree because they didn't know what they were doing is more worthy of medical attention?
