Health Benefits of Tea

^ I agree. Nothing like a good does of Chamomile with milk and a glob of honey to sweeten the mix when one isn't feeling well. And maybe this is odd, but I always also add a twist of lemon.

I drink yerba mate tea, and this stuff I got with chamomile, valerian root, but I don't get any calming or stimulating effect from either one. I guess my body is too used to artificial drugs, that the only one it recognizes that is somewhat natural is caffeine. Imma drink a bunch of both teas today and see if it does anything to me.

Awww a tea thread! <3

I love tea

-chai, lapsang souchong, standard tea, green tea, malinowa (polish for raspberry)...etc....blah blah
Ran out of Cinnamon Yogi Tea (spiced mmm), enjoy chamomile, honey & milk...and to go to sleep I can be found drinking a coupla cups of Dr Stuarts Valerian Plus - which has limeflowers, valerian root, hops & something else in it.

My Polish lover has LOADS of herbal teas, and whenever I stay with her all I drink is herbal tea really...My favourite one is Moroccan spices - like mint, with spices...not quite sure what's in it, but you don't need to sweeten it...which is really odd...

I usually put honey in everything, never sugar.

MMMMMMMMM TEA, gonna go get another cuppa! -Fennel

if you read scientific studies of polyphenols or other so called "antioxidants" they do not ever show any conclusive reason to believe they are good for you.

Your statements in this thread have been filled with specious reasoning, confused logic, and false claims.

Its really not complicated, bro. Oxidation causes the formation of hydroxyl radicals which are extremely reactive and denature most cellular components. Antioxidants prevent oxidation, thus less hydroxyl radicals, thus less damage to cells.

There's some evidence that excessive consumption of highly-potent antioxidants such as R-ALA or idebenone can disrupt various redox signaling pathways, but consumption of naturally occurring antioxidants in reasonable quantities is certainly good for you!

^ Many mixed teas are being sweetened with stevia these days, such that when you brew it you don't need to add a sweetener

HUGE POINT!! Also from my personal horticultural experience growing your own stevia is EASY!!!! You really don't have to do anything to it except water when its hot, and BOOM, you have stevia which costs a lot of money by companies trying to make millions off it like everything else in this money run world. You can purchase seeds or seedlings threw websites and its soooooo worth it!! You can dry the stevia and ad a few crushed leaves to a cheese cloth or tea ball and sweeten your tea naturally. Stevia also is wonderful for regulating blood sugar and has a host of other medicinal values. Only mother nature could create Stevia, Man creates ASPERTAME=POISON. Did you guy's know that Aspertame turns into formaldahyde "spelling lol," once consumed and brought up to body temp? This is a fact.....

While I agree that aspartame is bad news, this is not the thread.
Btw, mother nature creates plenty of substances which are poisonous too ;)

At the moment for me its Darjeeling without milk or sugar.

Sometimes I try and make chai at home with cardomon pods, vanilla beans, cloves, black tea, honey, ginger and milk. Does anyone have any good chai recepies?

On the weekend I made some ginger tea with : ginger root, lemon grass, lime juice and honey. It was tasty and helped with my hangover no end.

I've never tried stevia but I might give it a go. I usually prefer honey to sugar though.

Lately I've been making Pu-erh loose leaf tea. It's rather different from most tea, but I've been rather enjoying it. Strangely energizing as far as teas go.

well personally,i like weed tea,i konw thc isnt soluable in water, but that dosent mean it dosent taste like mary jane, that would be my favorite for shure and the most rewarding to make /drink,but as for store bought shit,i have my morning stuff, after school stuff, and nighttime stuff, the morning would be black tea, green tea made from a tea tumbler(cup that makes tea in it),any special gunpowder teas, for after school id have to say orange peko or some cecylon, and nightime i drink chamomile,or beuty tea,or 'sleepytime tea'. my favorite tea though for its trippyness,is that tea that comes in a ball, and grows a flower in the pot,you get like 3 steeps outa a flower, check it out if u havent heard of it

Licorice tea is the best aphrodisiac tea. I don't really think about the health benefits of tea, though I know they are present.

i cant get enough of that stuff. idk if its just my brand or what but it leaves this sweet taste in my mouth, its yummayyyy haha.

i drink-
one green tea w/ caffeine in the morning, and one when i get home from school.
and one green tea /decaf after dinner and before bed.

IMO its helped alot with reducing acne outbreaks.

I have a range of teas in my cupboard daily tends to be black tea, caffeine to wake me up in the morning and another in the afternoon to give me a boost. At night I tend to go for fennel or chamomile tea just more relaxing and puts me off eating for a bit.

if I am bloated tend to use peppermint tea after eating to help with digestion. and if I am just wanting to chill out and relax for a bit tend to get a pot of green tea on the go, use leaves and brew them. Not that I get that much time to get my green tea so when I do I make the most of it.

the only other one I tend to use a lot is lady's mantle which I pick and brew into a tea monthly.

I keep cranberry, raspberry a few ealr grey and green tea with lemon in the cupboard but tend to keep using the same ones.:)

sleepytime extra tea with valerian, chamomile, and tila estrella works great to reduce anxiety, loosen up your muscles, and help you relax at night. it's an inexpensive brand.

I've really been enjoying Tulsi Tea lately after first trying it a number of years ago and forgetting about it.

The taste alone leaves me wanting another mug after I'm done and it kills late night food cravings.

Reportedly, it's supposed to be supposed to be good for weight loss. Not that that was a draw card for me.

Anyway, definitely the goods. I recommend you all go out buy some :)

^ Tulsi Tea is quite good. :) I didn't like the mango-something flavor, or maybe it was peach something? I'll check later as I still have a ton of it in the cupboard. 8)

I too noticed the appetite suppressant properties of it. Though I don't know if that's just from drinking something hot.

Every day I have about 4 or 5 green teas, 4 or 5 redbush teas and a couple peppermint aswell. Oftensqueezing lemon, lime and a teaspoon of honey aswell.

Peppermint Tea has to be possibly my favourite beverage of all time. So, so so nice!

^ Peppermint tea is damn good. I like to the the twinnings peppermint tea selection thingy, the chamomile and spearmint one is great at nighttime/bedtime.
