Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone has any info on this. My friends mom works at a mental hospital and told him that there's been some patients lately coming in due to psychosis, and the reason has been ketamine but its weird like it's not actually showing up on drug tests? I dont know exactly how they're finding out what it is but she said its ketamine with like a changed molecule? Its apparently putting people in really bad long term psychosis. Idk if she's on some fear mongering shit or what, but if anyone knows what im talking about please chime in. Thanks!

No, I didn't heard of keta causing long term psych damage
What I have heard (and read&see pics, here in BL) is that ketamine can and do destroy your bladder(sp?) and urinary tract if you go wild on it, using big amounts and/or using it too often for too long.
There is a very valuable thread by the tittle "Warning: why you shouldn't abuse ketamine (nsfw photos)", posted by our fellow bluelighter.

I know that's kinda off topic as you have asked about mental issues, but that thread sure worths a visit. It goes without saying that the photos aren't nice, that's for sure, but, harm reduction wise, they can't be more valuable.

Ketamine is not a "semi-soft" drug as some people seems to perceive it. Ketamine carries its dangers if abused or used too often

I've not been able to find record of this, but if a young person is schizophrenic and it hasn't surfaced yet, it can surface earlier than usual when it's poked and prodded with hallucinogens (cannabis, dissociatives, empathogens, psychedelics, deliriants, etc.)

Tiletamine and tilmetamine have some very long lasting aftereffects though.

i don't really know about the tests the hospitals use... i got arrested on acid and had to take a drug test in the hospital after court and they said i had MDMA in my system, which doesn't really make any sense cause i consumed blotter paper and pretty sure it was LSD... so maybe the test is wrong or something cause i don't think mdma could fit on blotter. maybe that's just one instance where the hospital i went to read the test wrong or something...

i haven't heard about any new ketamine like drugs inducing psychosis any where on the internet and i read reddit pretty often. i don't often hear of people going into psychosis on ketamine either. could just be a regional thing where someone is selling a research chemical as ketamine and the people at the hospital are dumb as fuck making shit up about a new ketamine... but i will check this thread again to see if there are any new drugs around, not that i'm really interested in taking a new ketamine like drug that drives people insane. lol

I dunno mang. PCP is a ketamine like drug and I think there are plenty of reports of drug induced psychosis with it.
Ketamine is 2-oxo-2'-chloro-PCM.

But actual ketamine, I haven't heard of causing long term psychosis. I had a roommmate who was doing prolly 5g of ket, and 3g of cocaine every day, without sleeping and I truly believe he was frequently in drug induced psychosis, but when he stopped doing the K and got some sleep, he'd be back to normal. There's also a lot of historic reports of people freaking out after coming back from surgery, but again, i can't think of any that caused long term psychosis.

I could also see 3-meo-pcp and 2-oxo-PCE causing problems they both have strong manic edges. Even The WHO states that 3-meo-pcp is MORE likely to cause psychosis than other disassociatives

Wow man, that's just insane I guess that your mate was young cause I can't imagine an ageing human organism handle those amounts
Also, I would like to know for how long (weeks, months) did this individual stayed on such a daily regime
I think that I could live a thousand lifes and people still would be blowing my mind with their... "performances"

It was a slow progression but a few years. Not sure where he's at, but last I heard he'd gotten caught up in the system. I've a had a few K addicts as roommates, and I have to say it can get very ugly.
