Hallcuinogenic Cannabis? - White Rhino.

Don't get caught up on the name - I've smoked "White Rhino", more correctly named "Medicine Man" grown by seeds personally sent by the original breeder himself. It's just really medicinal... It makes you feel like a Zombie, to sum it up.

To understand the effects of weed, you need to understand the way the brain functions.

The brain is operated by about 100 billion neurons (nerve cells) which all process information about specific functions. The neurons communicate with each other through neurotransmitters, which are chemicals that control the signals sent between neurons and receptors which receive these signals. Foreign chemicals, like THC, can mimic or block actions of neurotransmitters and can therefore diminish the communication between sets of neurons.

Weed is psychoactive, the THC effects the cannabinoid receptor (CB1) thus giving an effect that can range from a pleasant high to a psychedelic state, dependent on dosage.

As most pot smokers will know, different strains give very different highs and I personally get the highest when mixing multiple strains in one session.

just to add;

I was reading recently they discovered that cannabidiol (CBD) had been eliminated from various strains of cannabis, i.e. skunk.

The CBD balances out the psychotic affects of THC as it has an "anti-psychotic effect. thus the strains that are grown at the exclusion of THC have a much greater likilihood of causing psychotic symptoms. In the article they found, with people who hadn't used cannabis, up to 40-50% experienced psychotic effects compared to a another group were given cannabis which had both THC and CBD.

After my first experiences with mushrooms, LSD and mescaline I found that weed made me trip a lot harder. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have been smoking weed when dosing small amounts of mushrooms lately but there have been no substantial effects. I've heard it can nullify the trip a little?

I think it depends how much you smoke really...
if your a heavy smoker... odds are it will probably calm you and your trip down
if your a casual it will probably intensify the trip
^^Based on me and my groups experiences over the last few years
but ofcourse everyones different

Never hallucinated on weed before even when I was a heavy smoker.

I can see how you could convince yourself that your are seeing things if you are really stoned... or maybe think you see things if you are extremely paranoid.

If you smoke within a couple of days of using a true hallucinogen weed can bring back some of the effects of the other substance.

I think you guys are forgetting THC is the main chem in weed that gets you high, cbd's and cbn's are what give you that relaxed body feeling.

Smoking weed, weather be Indica or Sativa on psychs will mess you up more mentally. I find on a strong hit of acid followed by a fat session will completely put you out there. Not for the weak though, bad trips can easily come on by this :|

Someone posted this in CD. Maybe not completely relevant to the topic, but since the varying effects of cannabis was being discussed I thought I'd post it up. The plant certainly has alot of different actions :)

Ah, I smoke weed usually 5 times a week and still I won't mix it with any other drugs.

Dropped acid a few times before I tried to smoke weed on it, after being told it "kicked it in" better. IIRC, my first time was with the purple ohms of about 97-98 when I was like sixteen. They weren't wrong. Kicked it in, indeed.

Exact same thing with MDxx. Makes me start disassociating and generally nullifies all the good effects of the roll, and takes me to a really trippy place.

I suffer from really bad anxiety and so I've found weed for me is good for food, bed, fluffy blanket and video games. And if I'm lucky sex.

Don't think I'd ever try these synthetic cannabinoids, JWH-0xx and what not.

These days I very rarely indulge in cannabinoids, but 15 years ago I was using chronically. At the time I was living in the UK and was growing indoors. Some of the strains available back then were already incredibly potent... AK-47 was one of my all time favourites, the hash I made from this was indeed psychedelic/hallucination-inducing. In high doses, THC can truly warp your mind. I remember one particular birthday party were most of the guests totally lost it following ingestion of a rather potent space cake... Some of them were put off weed forever. At the time, I was convinced I had turned into a snake because of the way my field of vision was distorted and everything appeared "scaly" (I know it doesn't make sense). The body-load was horrible. I could feel every internal organ been overworked. I was incapable of talking, the best I could manage were dribbling hisses... The next day I had to drag myself to work (in a record store), still completely out of it. I was convinced the store had been re-painted overnight because all the colours looked different. The next Monday I realised what was wrong: one of the light bulbs had burnt out.

IIRC White Rhino is a Sativa-dominant Hybrid, which would cerainly account for the more "heady" effects.

White Rhino is Indica Dominant. White Widow is Sativa dominant.

Either heavy Indica or Heavy Sativa usually make people hallucinate.

I don't understand how someone who smokes regularly doesn't know about the psychedelic properties of Cannabis lol Took me one time of heavy smoking to experience it, and that was the 2nd time I got high. Then in the next couple of years 3 friends told me they hallucinated from weed as well.

Maybe just circumstance.

+1 here on tripping from weed. Has happened in the early smoking years to me, usually spurred on by paranoid ideas.

I'm not a fan of strong weed and usually green out and feel sick before getting any real effects these days...

Weed on lsd or shrooms, never really "intensified" but have changed the trip somewhat/pushed it in a different direction.. shrooms are already a downer type drug for me and mixing with pot puts me in unhappy paranoid places.... on lsd though, all good :)

Yeah, I've also heard this, i don't know who to believe anymore ;D

I've smoked weed while peaking on two tabs of lsd. It definitely intensified the trip... DEFINITELY (just my own experience of it, of course). The visuals got super super intense, and I started forgetting where I was, etc... I've also smoked it on dxm, and I had some pretty intense CEVs because of it. So psyches/dissociatives + weed = intense for me. :P

You're right. Looks like the Indica cross is unknown. I've always found Sativa to be a lot more psychedelic than Indica - smoked at least.

Cookies have well and truly floored me a few times with some visual distortions, but I'm yet to experience full-on hallucinations - even with mushrooms and LSD.

I've smoked plenty of white rhino, it's good but hardly anymore hallucinogenic than any other good strain

I tried white rhino one time and tripped super hard on it. I hadn't smoked for about a week, and when i got it smoked 2 bowls with a couple other people. I was standing against a dresser and the guy across from me was a black guy in a bright red shirt, and pretty much eevrything else around him was tan colored. When I started tripping the red and black started to melt and blend into the tan surroundings, all i saw was a swirling mix of those colors for atleast a minute. Everyone was watching me look like a dumbass, and they said i was holding onto the handles of the dresser leaning forward like i was about to fall. Fun experience :)
