Even though I've never touched smack, i've done opiates.

But, a good way to describe someone on opiates (in my experience), is that they are hiding behind glass eyes.

i know that sounds totally fucked up.
but i dont know, when im on opiates, and also seeing people on them, it just looks like they/I have glass eyes, almost like a dead stare, and it really gives off the "i don't care" attitude that opiates bring.

But, this is hard to see for someone that hasn't touched opiates. I know I couldn't see it until I started using. Just like I couldn't tell a tired person apart from a stoned person - that is, until I started smoking weed, then the picture becomes clear.

well i'm not just "assuming" they're shooting up for no reason. i've actually known they've been snorting it, but recently i came across some needles. i don't know whether they're shooting the H or they could be shooting some other substance, i don't know.

i haven't been able to see their arms nor their eyes, but they certainly sleep a lot and eat a lot of candy.

i did end up asking them about it honestly. i just wanted to let them know that i wasn't judging at all. i do drugs....we all do drugs.....a drug is a drug. just that i'm here for them, if they should ever need any help. i didn't want them to feel threatened in any way, so i basically just told them that i loved them and that i just wanted them to know i'll always be there for them, and if they ever want to talk about it, i'd always be there to listen.

^^^haha, exactly. I love how everyone preaches this non-judgemental do not stereotype shit but automatically assumes he is shooting up. I would venture to say that most heroin users do not inject, and the official statistics back me up (but we all know that official stats are not always that reliable for something as underground as heroin).

I have H in the house sometimes and also needles but those are solely for IM of ketamine [from a sealed vial not street re-hydrated].

So you said you asked what was the reply?

I'd have a look out for citric acid, cotton wool or rollie ciggie filters, a spoon or similar gear if you suspect IV. Maybe strips of foil, tube of some sort etc if smoking. Anyhoo, keep your eyes on th ashtray ... always gives people away

It's only a drug to me although I wouldn't ever consider IV of anything ... IM took some courage and I'm hugely careful going thru 3-5 alcohol swaps before I plunge. I'm high and rambling << another sign of some on H Yummy!

Both of these "symptoms" may occur if someone is a marijuana smoker or generally depressed...so neither of these are too valuable of a "tell."

i have sessions once or twice a week, maybe i use 4 or 5 times but always within 1 or 2 days, so it's not like i'm high most of the time, i usually work 5 or 6 days, sometimes up to twelve days straight, then 1 or two days off every 7 days, and i think i keep 99% of people i know are in the dark. but maybe most of them do know, but if they aren't in the know, my giveaways include...nodding, pupils, scratching, my out of character slow drinking of beer, trackmarks (i always use my inner arms and always wear short sleeves and i suck at shooting), me and junkie looking people go into a pharmacy then go into a pub for 5 mins then come out looking fucked with blood trickling down ourr arms while you sit at the bus stop waiting for us across the road watching us the whole time, but i honestly don't think they notice because i don't usually act like a typical junkie in front of people i know. I just pretend i'm really stoned and smoke weed or say i took a xanax or oral morphine pills or something. everyone would freak out if they knew i shootup heroin and ice, so i only let other users, my girlfriend and a couple of really good friends know really. when i was using semi-daily, i used to be able to hide it from a girlfriend for a few weeks while she was living with me, i eventually just started doing it in front of her, she really didn't like it, but i kept doing it in front of herl,, we'd always fight about it, i would swear i would quit heroin for her but i knew deep down i would still do it and choose it over her, we had no jobs or money, i made her sell her medication to support my habit, i loved her though, sometimes i would treat her with a cheeseburger from mcdonalds bought by a friend, but eventually she didn't care, she even asked if she could try it, but i wouldn't let her, i just couldn't support two habits, and she was too young and nieve to get into needles, it would of killed her, although sometimes i wish i had done it, she would of been mine forever, but that's kind of twisted, so i just coulnd't be bothered, now i always tell girls pretty much just after or before i sleep with them and they dont seem to care.

i used to use my feet and hands/wrist, but people have been telling me that it's more dangerous to use those veins and that the arm is the best place. what is the general opinon?

Depending on what jail, and if youwere using H, and if they gave a crap, they would give me librium..... and yea, the nod... where the eyes cant stay open... =) thats a good sign of some kind of opiate use.. and shooting.. like said before.. tracks.. or if you're like Velma from scooby, you might find a Syringe....

You should do it in the artery or veins on the inside of your thigh'sdependingon where you're is located... in that general vicinity...

I don't shoot... but keepin it from people is a lil easier if its not on your arms.. try the top of your feet or near your ankles..

just be careful and informed if you're gonna shoot..., be careful with the artery in your leg... it has to be done carefully.. but its better than rack marks on your arms..
