Guns and drugs don't mix

Two words - gun control

I really wish I hadn't read that story, I now feel a bit sick and I am also very glad I live in a country where 13 year old fucktards can't easily get there hands on firearms.

exactly this! very happy that nearly no one has a gun at home in my country and that it is very very hard to get one but thats something americans cant understand

I agree with previous posters that banning guns isnt the way to go. Just like when LSD becomes illegal we find something else, and when THAT becomes illegal we find something else. Now we have research chemicals! You can still get the illegal stuff but its obviously harder. and the legal stuff can have unstudied negative physical repercussions.
at the same time, if he for example handed his friend a knife, it would have been very hard to 1 Hit KO the dog like that.

Im sorry you had to go through that but Ive noticed that its not so much drugs + weapons thats a bad mix, its drugs + weapons in the hands of irresponsible people. I know people who have played with guns on drugs and almost done the same exact thing. and when they are sober guess what?? They act just as stupid. The drugs just enhance their "hidden" personalities. Still, I hope you are coping with it alright.

Now for the skeptic part of my post:
I agree with a previous poster that I forgot to quote how did:
1. you have a loaded gun (not too hard to accomplish)
2. your friend pull the trigger (also not too hard)
3. your dog cry and run away after getting BLASTED at point blank in the head? (pretty damn hard)
4. your mom not wake up (must have been on midazolam or something!)
5. no one in your "middle class" community not give a fuck? If i lived in a nice middle class community (which I have many times) where gunshots should not be heard...i might not call the cops after hearing a shot, but my parents definitely would (if i lived with them). thats why you pay extra money to live there...so you dont have to deal with that type of bullshit.
6. and finally, what of the bloody mess where the dog got shot in the face?
I dont mean to make you feel any more bad about your experience, I just have a skeptical side. Then again.....when I was young sometimes the most random sequence of events would happen, releasing me from getting in a shit ton of trouble.

someone must have heard and wanted to tell your parents they heard a gunshot come from your house.

this thread definitely made me a little sick to my stomach. horrible things happen all over the world on a daily basis...so just remember guys that its nice to face reality every now and then, and realize that people, and animals die in brutal ways all throughout the globe every day.

in mexico, the drug cartels will stick a bucket on your head with a rat in it, let the rat eat your face... and eyes until he makes his way into the brain and kills you by eating your brain. my two cents. hope i didnt offend anyone, wasnt my intention at all.

Two words - gun control

Gun control should be handling a gun correctly and storing it properly away from kids, not laws that only effect law-abiding citizens. Criminals like gun control; less of their victims will be able to defend themselves against their illegal guns. Here in USA anyways, where any gun control laws are a joke since there are so many guns no matter what, it would just disarm the (mostly)good people who don't have criminal records. Even another assault weapons ban would be pointless; lots of people have stocked up on these kinds of high capacity guns (myself included)... although it would have probably been better if the law never had expired (my only agreement with the irrational gun control crowd).

What a sad story. Makes me want to go see my dog, now living far away. I think, thanks to this story, I will travel to see her sooner than I planned. Kid or not the shooter should have been severely punished, what an ego problem indeed. If anyone killed my dog in front of me, I know in the back of my mind rationality and fear of punishment would hide away while I gave them a miserable death.

I can't even begin to explain how sorry I am that something like this happened to you. It does sound hard to believe, but at the same time one must understand how different his household can be compared to the household a block away.
If you need someone to talk to you can PM me if it helps.

I can't fathom that. I feel strongly the other way; it really pisses me off that people give money to the RSPCA when there's kids in Africa dying of diarrhoea.

Yes, I tend to be strongly humanitarian as well.

I don't feel bad for you at all. You were 13 and had NO excuse to be doing shrooms. I'm glad your dog died so you could learn from your idiotic mistakes.

^ Thanks for adding that, God. Your unilateral judgments have been the voice of reason.

That must have been a very delicate night, OP. I'm sorry it turned that direction.

Man, that is FUCKED UP.

Poor dog, for fuck sake.

Man, why does a 13 year-old have a gun? Guns are made to hurt an KILL, there's no other purpose behind them.

Guns just don't mix with absolutely anything. Bringing a gun while tripping was not a clever thing to do, you are to blame there, but well, you were just a kid tripping and trying to impress your friends.

What if this fuck wit had decided to shoot your other friend instead? With your mom not waking up and all, imagine going to wake her up from bed to tell her your friend is laying on the living room floor shot to death. Fuck man.. Way to close of a call.

I don't know if this story is true or not. If it is then there are definitely some discrepancies that need explaining but thats not the point. true or not the message still stands. Your better off shooting coke, meth, and heroin in the same shot than tripping with guns and stupid people.

Ever seen what a fox can do to a sheep/cat/dozen chickens? Ever seen a drake rape a female duck? I think your view is a little romantic.

Yeh, maybe so.

Animals never have hidden agendas and politics, though.

Black widow spiders certainly have a hidden agenda when they devour their mate after copulation, and I'd say that social animals (especially those where the alpha male essentially has exclusive sexual access to the females in the group, and where his status is constantly threatened by potential usurpers) are involved in something we might call politics.

>_<

I have to concede the point. I can't and won't change the way I feel though. I can only hope I'm not judged for that.

I have given money to the local SPCA and not to Africans. Do I care more about animals here than the people suffering in Africa? Yes. I still think its sad, but animals are more helpless (and usually more friendly).

The way it is over there in Africa makes me wonder about the genetics of the African people as a whole and why they can't build successful civilizations. No, I'm not racist, just looking at it from a statistics/numbers point of view. If we keep supplying aid they will just keep expecting it and not do something about their lousy countries anyways. Not against aid though, I'm sure they need it (because they now rely on it) but I'm definitely not contributing.

Anyways, yeah for some reason its always bothered me more to read about a dog killed than a person. I guess its because I've always been very close to my pets and there has been low times in my life where my dog was my best friend; after years together its amazing some of the intelligence I've learned they have. They can be extremely perceptive animals, reacting to me different if I'm tripping, mad, sad, happy, angry. And there is just an innocence about them that makes me want to pity and take care of them. But there are a lot of dogs I hate too, like cocker spaniels and some terriers.

^ A dog being killed by a human would probably make you question the circumstances.

Human collisions between two or more well-brained people can often be pretty easy to make sense of why there is a dead body lying around afterward. (I'm not saying it's right, but people kill each other in common circumstances intentionally or not all the time.)

Dude, that is so incredibly sad. My heart goes out to you, your friend, and, retroactively, your dog.

I sympathize with the poster who thinks it's a greater tragedy for a dog to die than a human. That is my gut reaction as well, though I don't think it's correct.

To the people questioning why the mom didn't wake up: some people are ridiculously deep sleepers. My wife, for example, sometimes sleeps so deeply that she won't be awakened by any amount of sound, with no drugs involved. The only way you can wake her up is to physically shake her.

I don't think the story is fabricated, it's just too truthy.

In all honesty, I trip with guns around sometimes cause I own them at the one place I live. not while away at college though. And on some campouts, of doses that are not high and well known how i react to them I'll bring a gun.

Its a simple cost/benefit analysis. pro/con. Do I think there are dangers in the woods? Yes, but i really like to go outside... Do i think I could hurt myself or others with it? No, I honestly do not, although I wouldn't want a gun and wouldn't want the responsibility of having it on a large dose of something. I'd want to be in a safe isolated environment.

So they can mix, and be fine together, if you are comfortable, careful and mature around guns. and that its legal for you to have one.
