Grinders - yea or nay?

do you have a grinder?
prefer ground up bud or broken up by hand. Or no preference?


Personally, I like the grinder. If yer not at yer house, it is easy to keep track of, you can put how ever much you want in there, smoke it all and still have some of yer bag left at home, and the kief catcher is nice.

What do you guys prefer?
No one is wrong or right.

one word, kief. kief + hash = best THC i've experienced....it's a very trippy head high different from the normal sedation, stoned highs you get with marijuana...so yes i recommend grinders for the kief catcher and especially if you like to roll joints/blunts

I've been saving my keif for 2 years i got 1/3 of my grinder filled in the chamber and my grinder can fit a quarter of bud in it to grind

I just break it up by hand, it's slow and inefficient but I'm too cheap to buy a good grinder.

grinders are cheap and easy to use. the more you stuff in them, the better they work. I only started using grinders about 4 or 5 years ago. I don't know how I ever did without one...

Grinders are essential IMO, I could never ger back to breaking it up by hand. I always grind all my buf at once so I have a big box of ground green.

I'm gonna change this thread title a bit to give it more flair....I don't think we actually have a grinder thread here, but I'll check anyway.

@thread: I never use a grinder much. I bought this round wooden one a few years ago when I had a job, and honestly, because I thought it was cute. I still think its cute, but only use it if I get VERY dense buds. Unfortunately when I use my grinder, since I'm not the biggest fan of blunts or joints, I then need to use a screen (either glass or metal) to keep the weed from pulling through, so I have little use for one. I always wanted one of those cool metal ones with the kief catchers, I guess once I come across one when I'm not unemployed and poor that happens to be "cute" (I feel like as a female I can get away with this) I may pick it up, since headies do tend to accumulate a good deal of kief

I have a Sharpstone grinder, and I love it. I use it everytime I smoke, I feel like it makes my weed go farther.

Doesn't it dry out too quickly if you do that? If I had a grinder I'd get a small tin (e.g. pocket sized Vaseline tin) and only grind up enough to fill that.

It's not directly related to the thread, but I think that a mixing bowl is essential for smoking hash. I've got one that zips up, and it's incredibly useful. You can keep your piece in it, make your mixes in it, keep your joints in it...I honestly don't know how I lived without one.

I grind since I use a vaporizer and the material has to be ground.

Before that when I was into smoking I'd just cut it up with small scissors on a pocketknife and then put it into a bowl, bong, one hitter, or joint.

I use scissors or my nails; grinders never seem to get the weed quite small enough for me. But then again when I roll a jay its like a bloody ritual and everything needs to be perfect

I have some of the wooden grinders...you have to watch them because the pins loosen and fall out..I've never found one, so I can only assume I rolled them into the joints and flicked them off with the ash..

I like the metal ones like the one pictured above. I'm going to get myself one of those..

I'm just curious Vader, but what is a mixing bowl? Could you maybe throw a picture of what you're talking about in here (especially since you think so highly of them)? I wonder if it's a UK/US thing but, I've never heard of this.

Yeah, but if it's too dry you don't even need to waste your time with the grinder, you can do the job by hand --- sucks though, it burns way too quick, but yeah there is such a thing as too dry.
