GrapeFRUIT VS Grapefruit Juice ?

I have been intreagued lately by different methods of potentiation being added into his usual regiment of opiates to try to get every last bit out of the experience. Lately I have been consuming as much white grapefruit juice as I can find.

I searched google and Bluelight but could not find any info regarding the strength of inhibition of 1 whole white grapefruit as opposed to buying the juice version. I was wondering if eating the fruit had any stronger inhibition effects on cytochrome p450 than simply drinking a store bought juice.? Does anyone have any experience with this ? I have not yet tested this but has aquiired 2 ripe white grapefruits so I will be experimenting with tthe hypothesis that the fruit and pulp contain more inhibiting enzymes than found in juice / concentrated juice, the next time I take my usual dose of 30-40 mg Oxycodone and will report back with my findings. Any constructive criticism until then would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Bluelight!

Hmm I don't have anything to back this up but I would think the juice would be more effective, considering how many grapefruits it takes to make a tall glass of juice. That said homemade fresh squeezed would likely be best. Eating the fruit itself would also take longer to digest before absorption would occur.

Whole grapefruit is more effective because there are more of the liver enzyme modifying flavonoids in the flesh of the fruit & in the small amount of pith you consume than there is in the juice.

Most of the essential oils are actually in the rind of the fruit, not in the juice.

The rind ? Has anyone ever experimented with eating just the GF rind to see if it has had stronger effects? I'd also be a little scared to try this with GF's from the grocery store due to the amount of pesticides in the rind. I would imagine you'd have more effects than just potentiation of the opiate if you consumed the rind, possibly some side effects from the pesticides ? Pure hypothesis no experience here. Also I am looking to try my experiment today so I will post back with my findings. Thanks for all of your replies :D

Neat, i had no idea. So if you were to make the juice yourself and leave the pulp in it should have a majority of the desired flavanoids? cimetedine has a similar effect to the grapefruit right? Im not big on grapefruit

I'd imagine that'd have a great effect. And also I Beleive so to the question about cimetidine although I have no personal experience, as in Canada it is not OTC and I haven't really been bothered enough to try to get it scripted. Does anyone know which is stronger as a inhibitor Cimetidine vs Grapefuit ?

I eat the fruit, take an antacid & naringin supplement, and wash it all down with some grapefruit juice.

Why fuck around?
:)

Hahahaha. Definitely don't fuck around do you. I was thinking of juicing 1 or 2 whole grapefruits, while trying to make sure most of the flesh makes it into the juice. Grabbing a 1L of tonic water with Quinine and making a mixture of the GFJ and tonic water. Wash 2 Rantidine (weak cytochrome p450 inhibitor, also don't have cimetidine available.) down with the entire mixture about an hour before dosing and see how that effects the experience. 3 Inhibitors should do the trick :D

I've also heard spreading out the GFJ / P450 'taker upper' over the course of 2 days (!) works better...than right before ingesting the target substance.

Probably depends on what you're eating, weight, urine output?, whatever, a bunch of other factors, but if you're reaally trying to squeeze the most life out of a small amount of medicine, maybe a few hours before, all the way up until T-00:00 wouldn't hurt.
