Goth Girl & the Clown,

Don’t you find it strange, what you revolved around?
Doesn’t it make you sick, what you became?
Doesn’t it seem stupid, what you’re drawn back to?
because you seem smart enough to see it’s insane.
He’s an obsessed, negligent asshole; you’re a bright,
beautiful, alluring goth girl, now minus a clown.
He should be a corpse now, you made your closure,
but he haunts you even when he’s not around.
He calls your phone just like when you were together
Now leaving nothing but his poetic dead air
You see his number on your cell phone, still pick it up
Why even send the vaguest signal you care?
He screams at you to never show up at his house
Then tracks you down at a party at your cousin’s place
And you took the time to listen and drive him around
and you should’ve shut the fucking door in his face.
Isn’t it funny, how freedom scares you?
Like a bat out of familiar hell, scared of the open, foreign sky
Doesn’t it seem stupid, what you’re drawn back to?
The pattern’s so familiar and I still don’t know why.
