Goodbye! It's been a fun 5+ years, but I QUIT!

Well, I'm a relatively new member compared to a lot of people around here, especially you. I did get to read a lot of your posts when I was just surfing the site before I signed up, as well as for a short time once I did sign up. You seem to have been away for awhile, or at least less present than it sounds like you had been in the past. From your responses that I did get a chance to read, you definitely proved to be very knowledgable and provided an incredible amount of accurate, relevant, and interesting information. Hopefully others will be able to step up and fill the void now that you're no longer a moderator and it seems like you won't be around as much due to other (more important) events in your life. Good luck at the uni!
 
I remember reading your alt.d posts, then I read your BL OD faqs et al.

You joined BL like, 7 days before I did if I remember correctly.

Yeah man I was wondering what that page is all about.

I used to enjoy reading PhreeX flaming people. Been less of it recently so I guess this is inevitable.

I don't know you or anything but I'd like to wish you luck in the future. Apparently you've contributed a great deal and the part a lot of people don't think about is; why would you do that unless you actually care about people you don't even know. That's an admirable quality. Peace.
 
Hey Dave,

It was fun meeting you way back when. I was a moderator when we first started Other Drugs. It was "fun" convincing everyone in the "moderator hideout", that a forum dealing with Other Drugs would be a good idea. You certainly made it work, and nobody else would have ever had the time, knowledge, or creative writing skills that you've put into this place for the last four years.

You'll do damn good as an MD. Have fun and keep up the good work bro!
 
You don't need to be a moderator to spread your knowledge so as far as I see it, stop winning everyone, he ain't leaving...now he my have more time to contribute than having to worry about moderating all the crap these trolls bring upon us. All the ridiculous threads started by greenlighters. All the threads in OD that should be in DB. Leave that to negrogesic and naturalone!Keep us educated.

I wonder what would make you think that?? No but it is a good point. Recently PhreeX would rarely post as it is. So now when he gets on this site and he doesn't have to worry about trolls and stupid threads...he will have more time to spend on answering questions.
 
I remember a time when PhreeX was a very active member of this forum, about two years ago. Before that time the guy was a real entertainer and I think people became magnetized to the insane stories alleged to have been based on reality. But since then PhreeX has flaked out of this forum. When 'Dave' went to hospital I think that made alot of peoples stomachs turn. I actually didnt believe it was true but people seemed relieved that he had survived the ordeal.
 
I hope Phreex doesn't think this is too personal but he OD'd on Fentanyl and Oxy a while back. He was comatose and had a heartattack. (I think that's the jist of it.) Most people here thought he was a goner.

There's an absolutely enourmous thread on it somewhere. I don't even know the guy, but that was a very scary ordeal to read about.

But hell, you probably dont remember a single one of my posts in the few years I've been around, so why *would* I wish you a solid farewell? What motivation, inclination, dedication would inspire me to respond in such detail to an occurrence so painfully impersonal?

For one thing, you've unknowingly made contributions in the way of constructing vast dungeons to the now blossoming castle that is my knowledge of pharmacology, neuroscience, harm reduction, and the many ways in which extra-normal psychological territory can be explored for the better. For that, I salute ya.

It's going to be strange being on here without you moderating, there's been times when you've been gone off and on (sometimes with good reason, being in a coma was a great excuse!) but I've always appreciated what you've put up here. When I used to moderate DitM and would start getting all wound up over someone not formatting a story properly or not knowing how to properly make an URL (fuck me with an eggbeater, what was wrong with people back then?) I'd just read some of PhreeX's wonderful replies in this forum. Good luck to you and come back here to BL anytime.....
