This is something that I have given much thought to for the last few months, actually it’s something I have toyed with the idea for about the last year … this forum really started something of a revolution here at Bluelight as a place where the IV drug user was as accepted as the pot smoking candy raver, where it wasn’t taboo to talk about heroin and how to use it, where it was ok to talk about the thing that if you brought them up elsewhere you would get a “get out of here junky” attitude … and I am glad to have started this …

Over the years this forum has seen a number of moderators, and a number of brilliant posters, but it comes down to this:

I AM RESIGINING AS OTHER DRUGS MODERATOR

Yes, I know I created it, I know I wrote countless Guides and FAQ’s that are cited countless times, not just here but from other outside sources … I know that parts of my posts have made it into FAQ’s for other various drug sites and even some news groups, but all that aside, my time as a moderator here has past … when it became a chore I loathed to moderate this forum rather then something I enjoyed, I knew it was time to move on …

Back in the beginning this site as well as this forum were full of nothing but the most intelligent minds, we had constant threads that would explode into amazing discussions, but now, no offence to the many of you that DO post intelligent things here, but most of you guys are just posting garbage, things that you could get an answer to if you would search, things that there are FUCKING FAQ’s on – the final straw was when BLUELIGHT CREATED A PILL-ID FORUM when you could take an entire 2 minutes to look it up yourself, now we will have STAFF that are going to be doing the SAME THINGS YOU SHOULD BE DOING, fuck, I WROTE AN FAQ ON HOW TO LOOK UP A PILL-ID and you guys would rather make a post and have others do your work …

I could go on and on about the other reasons why I am leaving but I’d rather not, it’s just that my spot should be given to someone that has the energy to moderate …

So, to all of you, I wish you all the best …if you wish to contact me then do so via PM (my email is toast) or

Wow, PhreeX, I kind of expected this at some point, but it still kind of surprised me to pop in and see it today...8o

You have a great mind & sense of humor...It'd be nice to run into you someday...who knows it's a small world...I wish you the best in everything you do, and every bridge you have to cross...as always...Peace, man.

Later on! Bluelight has benefited a lot from Phreex's info, I know his contributions have taught me quite a bit.

However, he seemed to be really slacking in his moderator duties in the last couple months. No offence because so many people love him, but I don't think he's been up to the challenge lately, be it a schedule problem or the fact he hates most the people that post in OD.

Nothing wrong with some new blood in here, I hope Phreex continues to give BL his valuable information. I just think it's smart for him to pass the torch.

He is in books, his quotes and phrases have been published, he gave so much to this site, alot of you have NO idea.....

What can i say. This is the guy who made me join bluelight, the first thread i ever read was one of his....

I consider him a good friend, and that will never stop......

You guys dont know what your losing, but i COMPLETELY understand his stance on this.....

A great guy, and as a mod in HIS forum i will always stand in his shadow....
 
Bluelight wouldn't be what it is if it weren't for you. I'm glad to see you're still sticking around as a BL'er to continue to share your wisdom!
 
negrogesic: The fact that alot of us "have NO idea" about him doesn't alter malicenwunderland's point. A moderator isn't a position to show stature, it's to fufill a function which he wasn't doing (in more current times). I have more I could say but I'm sure it would recieve a negative reaction and there really is no point of starting any controversy.

Wish I was around to meet Phreex when he was active, since judging by his contributions he was quite a valuable/informed member. Best wishes Phreex.
 
I do not mean to minimize your guys respect for him, i am sorry if i insulted anyone....

But i what i MEANT to say is that most of you probably do not realize the true extent of his philanthropy (through no fault of your own)....

It is a pleasure to know the man....

Im a not trying to have a circle jerk here, i am just trying to express my profound respect for him. This doesnt discount your feelings towards him....

Never really knew you too much PhreeX, but have read a lot of your contributions, and just want to say thank you despite what everyone else thinks.

Um, how is that "attention whoring"? I have a website, the URL is phreex.com, there used to be a message board ran there that had several hundred members, most from here ... my current email address is on said domain (EDIT - I removed it, if you want to talk to me just PM me here and ask for my email address!) ... I don't see how having a website is attention whoring, I mean, IMO it's all these people that have BL journals and post pictures of themselves in the galery on an almost daily basis that would be "attention whores" ...

As for IRC logs, you don't need to dig them up, I am the first to admit I am a total introvert with about 5 good friends offline, but thanks to Bluelight (and a number of other sites that are non-drug related) I have many more friends online... no, I don't go out, I don't party, I roll alone as I don't have a girlfriend ...

And sorry, I have been online since the mid 1990's, first I was the creator of the pro computer virus news group (usenet) where if you search for my name you will find a ton of articles on 80x86 virus coding I wrote, then I started posting to the alt.drug.* groups and gained a following there for my meth induced posts, and then I came here and was ASKED to moderate the (then called) "medical" forum ... I did that but quickly saw the need for a forum that was PRO DRUGS OTHER THEN MDMA .. no, a forum for people that LIKED to shoot heroin, meth, coke, or smoke crack, or whatever.... and yes, you seem a little too new here but I wrote a number of guides and FAQ's I have since deleted for personal reasons ...

I'm not sure where yer going with this, if you have something against me why not PM me or email me and take it up with me ..

it just sucks that this forum will continue to get worse unless somebody starts ruling the place with an iron fist like you used to :|
 
Phreex, haha, youve probably never noticed my name, but like a lot of other people on here, ive learned a lot of things from what youve posted.

The funny thing is tho, my buddy, who reads on here, and I would always get a kick out of the replys you left on other peoples posts. You have the knowledge to say whatever youd want, but a lot of the time you sounded like a dick, and youd get really frustrated, we always got a kick out of it.

Glad you came through healthy through that whole ordeal as well.

Thank you for moderating, and I wasnt here when you started, but from what others have said, creating this great forum.

I know at the VERY least, his is an eternal friend of mine.

Yes he has many enemies, from possible past indiscretions, but who doesnt?

But he is going in the right direction, and i will always be in constant contact with him.....


And tathra: Im trying, but lately it seems to be policy to not have such a stronghold and curse at people. Doesnt mean the forum cant be saved, but it will take work. I am abit upset that our more intelligent threads have now been siphoned off to this new "advanced" forum, but OD still has a chance....

I am recruiting the best of the best. If you think your amoung them, PM me, and give me your qualifications......
 
PhreeX, you made a great number of invaluable contributions here on this site and I'd like to thank you for that. It's too bad you got so disillusioned with this site but it's been clear for a while now that you were gonna step down from being moderator. It's good you're still staying as a member and I hope to see some more posts from you. Unfortunately, you haven't been posting at all on BL for a long time now and hopefully now that you're stepping down you'll start posting again...
