Good Documentaries

Really annoyed that it seems to have been deleted from Youtube (available now on itunes!) and elsewhere I am sure for those in the know. Not to be confused with rather poor film version.

Party Monster: The Shockumentary is a 1998 documentary film detailing the rise of the club kid phenomenon of the late 80′s and early 90′s in New York City, the life of club kid and party promoter Michael Alig and Alig’s eventual murder (with Robert “Freeze” Riggs) of fellow club kid and drug dealer Angel Melendez. Produced by World of Wonder and based in part on the James St. James book on the murder, Disco Bloodbath, the film combines interview footage from Alig, St. James, scene watchers like Michael Musto and a number of other former club kids with archive footage from various parties and dramatic re-enactments. The book and this film also served as the basis for the 2003 film, Party Monster, starring Macaulay Culkin, Seth Green and Chloë Sevingny.

Here is the trailer-well worth a watch in my oppinion.

^ I wouldn't mind watching the doc of that. I actually liked the film version and there was a documentary of sorts in the extras. Don't think it was the one you're meaning though so may just have meself a looksee cos it's an interesting (if somewhat tragic) story.

Uncle Robert.
The whole documentary is amazing. It's how these guy's lead up to this. Bored in there bedroom playing xbox etc etc; to walking on scaffolding 150 meters up.
They said, yeah I was afraid of heights but learned how to tame my fear. fear is learned or imposed. it can be undone... apparently.
don't look down

But also the way people look at death in different cultures.
If anyone saw the clip of when the twin towers came down. The guy in the jacket who was trying to use it as a parachute; then it just blew away. Man that'll give nightmares.

Mustangwanted just didn't have the fear like the other guy did. He even put his hand into the life of a complete stranger and swung over the Moscow bridge.

Mustang was so eager to be held over the edge by a complete stranger as well.

Doing the flip on top of the bridge really cuntkicked the fear into the main guy though.

you can indeed watch the clips on mustangs website, but the whole doc was insightful. the different way ukrainian or russians think, the fear their parents feel. well worth a ganders.
yeah the flip, man that had my heart going. james kingston is from a parkour background, and on the ground for him it would be easy.
But on camera, many meters up, in russia with the police bearing down on ya....

appreciate the link coltdan (man on a wire part 1)
this computer is so slow though; I'll have to look it up by other means... did he fall? That was the impression I was getting

Good documentary with loads of old footage of London, if you like that sort of thing:

Only watched the first one so far but going to watch the second now.

Really enjoyed that Roganjosh thank you :) =D

Soft Cell star in this programme about Eighties pop. Drink, drugs, break-ups and breakdowns rewarded Marc Almond and Dave Ball after they conquered the world with Tainted Love. The duo remember the hits and splits.

Good 3 part documentary, group of people get 1000 000 between them to try and profit on stock. But it shows how difficult it is

Have you thought of a documentary yet?

We have a few music threads you know! But just posting names of bands doesn't seem all that much fun :D
