Started watching Pawn stars the other day, its brilliant

Yeah I'm a fan, this pic does make me chuckle though-

"Every episode of Pawn Stars"

question about this Banksy person. I took a picture of this random graffiti I saw while in Gibraltar and im starting to think it might be that guy. Was located off the main road on one of the side streets so it might have just been some local copycat but I really have no idea. It has been the background picture on my phone ever since though

Samsara is cool as fuck, all time lapse and aerial shots and imagery without any dialogue or narration, just music, in the vein of the Qatsi films, all gorgeous and good-looking. Recommended for those on drugs.

id also recommend baraka. kind of the same but a bit different. amazing to look at, sober or not

Samsara, it transpires, is in fact the sequel to Baraka. I was unaware of it, thanks.

I know I bang on about it, but I really rate Fire in Babylon. Cricket. Reggae. The righteous struggle against colonial oppression. Sir Viv Richards being an absolute badman.

Coltdan, I envy you. You know when you trying something for the first time and it's ace?
The first time I saw pawn stars, I looked at chum, they were trying to buy an old fortune telling machine that was up for auction. He said what price? I thought, jeeez just another spoilt fat US prick with money to burn.
First impressions huh? Turns out he's the best one in the show!
High value historic items, not like hardcore pawn; shhhh I still watch that one also ;)

Cruel Cut. A docu about female genital mutilation, can be found on 4OD, for all those UK BLers out there.

Just in case you guys were unaware the world is headed to a baaaaad place:

I should get netflix, it's 7 pounds a month here in the UK. Actually before moving to a big city in bonnie scotland; there was only 4 channels and a silly slow modem. Sky is okay, but the repeats just go on and on. American cable is better; if you like the old school stuff especially, but far to many adverts; ad's drive me nuts. They SHOUT and scream at cha; grab a cuppa tea and we'll scream some more. Remember the Hovis ad's, nice and quiet, old town with cobbles, some kid doing his paper round. Or maybe the glowing kid after he'd eaten his hot porridge, can't remember the brand. Prolly taken off the market coz it didn't have enough sugar.
The Wright Stuff on channel 5; matthew wright screams authentisity and it's live channel 5. Great factual program, and funny how he always slags off jeremy kyle (vile).

total fascinated with poor old ed gein he wasnt an evil man he was genuinely insane i mean they wrote the book on poor old ed

bit freaky this the comparisons to me and some of these people early child hood go hand in hand i think the thing that separates me from them is my love of children and animals and how i couldn't ever bring myself to commit harm to them .

but its still fascinating to think just how close ive gotten at time to being a serial killer myself because of my back ground and hatred towards humanity at times

There's sort of a pattern in the kind of documentaries you're into, isn't there foolsgold? You knows what you likes, it would seem.

Foolsgold, was a proper ending to Karl Pilkington aka An idiot abroad. He wanted to call it Karl Pilkingtons Seven Wonders. It was on Sky, just wondered if people in the US of A got to see it. The office, or Stephan Merchants, Extra's, Hello Ladies. Karl is the best though; forget ricky gervais. Watch the moaning of life, or better still an Idiot Abroad (first 2 series)

Watched...

VICE Meets Glenn Greenwald: Snowden's Journalist of Choice

Pretty much as per title really. Half hour interview with Glenn Greenwald (Grauniad journo who broke the NSA/PRISM story) at his home in Brazil. I don't really know anything about the fella other than he broke "that" story but he comes over well in this I thought. Probably nowt new or revelatory to those that have been following the story or the whole privacy debate in general, but I liked what he had to say. It's mostly about the broader subject of privacy and journalistic independence and integrity.
