It really depends. You would think the obvious answer is, yes. But, some people really do prefer Adderall as it really pushes people to do their work. With that being said, I think the majority of people suffer from Adderall's not so great side effects.
As a result, most people opt for Dexedrine (D-Amphetamine). This is pure Amphetamine as opposed to Adderall's mixture of 4 salts (One of which being the Levo which creates a bulk of the side effects).
Desoxyn, however, is Methamphetamine as you stated. This, unfortunately, does have a bad reputation amongst doctors and carries around a stigma. It is not often prescribed but if you are honest with your doctor and explain to them the issues you have with Adderall, you could at least try Dexedrine for the time being.
Desoxyn is viewed as a medication with high abuse potential. Oddly enough, if you take it in its prescribed dose, it's so smooth, you have no desire to indulge.
