Goa Trance

So where do you guys find parties that have Goa? I would love to attend a party that had some Goa. Sadly, it seems like most of the parties around here only play psytrance.

The only chance I have to hear Goa somewhere is when Shpongle comes around to play some Hallucinogen stuff.
 
So Kiriyama recently rocked a night time high bpm set that slowly morphed into a sunrise goa set in Georgia, highly recommended music, his newest album will apparently rock this new goa style he is producing.

the short answer: i don't :(

this year there's two festivals in my country where exactly one goa act will be playing...

but still the situation is improving, last year there were absolutely no goa acts anywhere to be found and it wasn't looking like any would be playing anytime soon, but now i've seen filteria and that gave me new hope :\ :)
my tactic is introducing as many psy-heads as possible to the music and not shutting up about wanting to hear goa artists on the local psy messageboard ;)

btw: 'alternative colours' compilation is out now as well as the 'artificial sun' compilation by phototropic records.

i got out when the psy started taking over, theres a lot i still love, but i know a fraction the producers these days. my favs, a majority of goa i would spin was off of TIP, spirit-zone, flying rhino, green nuns OTR, saffi brothers, some blueroom and twisted records eventually - with random platypus but that doesnt really count. ;)

we are indeed lucky to have most newschool goa producers here in europe. the only one from the states that comes to my mind is aerosis (whom i would love to see live with live- and dj-set).
 
'Blue Planet Corporation - A Blueprint for Survival' with all their old classics that never got properly released is out now.
it should arrive in the mail on monday :D
 
i finally saw hallucinogen, total eclipse and artifact303 live for the first time last weekend at ozora festival :D. don't miss them if you have the chance (same for man with no name whom i've seen before).

The production on Psy Trance is superb, it seems to be a lot more bassline orientated but it doesn't usually have anything on the hypnotic melodies of goa trance.

I agree.

Goa trance is far more psychedelic than even psytrance.

Psytrance is was cheesier....

Goa Trance has more feeling.

just put on Hallucinogen - Twisted album. i can already feel the waves of euphoria rise thru my spine and combust into the mosaic of fractal patterns as it reaches my brain

Wow, that is pretty trippy. I was listening to that album when I made that post, and it's been about two years since I've listened to it last.
 
2009 is really a great year with lots of new releases: 'Radical Distortion - Psychedelic Dreams' is out now and 'E-Mantra - Arcana' is coming in a few weeks. tbh i'm much more excited about e-mantra.
