Goa Trance

rock bitch mafia and let's turn on are both great. i was at a new year party in san francisco and one room was dedicated to old-school goa. one guy spinning dropped thunder thighs at the height of the party. awesome.

Goa till I die

goa's what i live for and mostly what i spin (www.goa-shoom.net)

best new goa sound is on Suntrip records.

Goa goes so far beyond psy. Psy is the club version of goa. Goa is true spirituality in music.

goa gil of course sorry if thats in a diff direction i'm not familar with the sound of all of what fizzy listed (thanks for that list btw your recommendations are always right on!).

There is a live mix by Doctor Goa (2 CD set) I've been listening to that covers what I see as the modern Goa sound, going through a lot of different material, but staying mostly in the progressive psy type area as far as speed and structure of the music. Its more focused on melody, and locking down into a groove and making all this graudal changes in the atmosphere... but while keeping everything interesting and never turning into screeching stuff. Sometimes it moves off into the almost progressive house direction at one end, and more full-on psy at the other.

its pretty good, check it out... "Doctor Goa - At Tanz in den Mai, Open Air Party. 2008".

perfect music for a party in the forest with a nice blue sky.

Goa Gil plays more dark/neuro trance, often high BPM's and longarse (boringarse) sets- some would say. I'd not know. But the Nommos (him and his wifeys project) are okay, barely. Its listenable. I prefer melodic stuff though...

filteria - daze of our lives - awesome cd, less in your face synthy than sky input.
merr0w - born underwater - awesome dubut album from merr0w...very well done, stays with the whole underwater theme through out. liquid goa
V.A. - People Walk Funny (Cronomi Records) - great cd from start to finish

merr0w - born underwater - awesome dubut album from merr0w...very well

I got to listen to this guy and he's very good. I loved the album.

Have any of you guys heard of Sneila? I listened to 2 of his tracks on this Pure Planet compilation album. The Dreamer's Guide and Flying Objects Always Reach The Ground. Really good stuff. Do you guys know if he's made any new music since then?

My favorite Goa mix.
Old school 94-96 set from a great S.F. DJ, Sausee.

filteria - daze of our lives - awesome cd, less in your face synthy than sky input.

i got that one last week along with the sundrops (which i also highly recommend, like most other stuff from suntrip records. ideal melodic morning sound). it is by far the best filteria album up to now. the melodies in sky input or heliopolis often sound a bit pointless, but with daze of our lives everything just fits nicely together.

it's good to see a goa trance thread here on bluelight. the renaissance of goa trance finally is coming. every year there are more arstists and more albums and compilations released :D

Dimension 5 - Transdimensional
why isn't this one bold? it's the best album ever released ;)

@artists similar to astral projection
i think artifact303 and afgin come closest. i even like artifact303 more than ap lately. an album would be great...

Yep, I have every track by him, he also has a track called We Breath Air (DJ Zen rmx) on V.A. - Peace Therapy (Kagdila Records), but its ambient. If you havnt heard it yet you are in for a treat. Flying Objects Always Reach The Ground is one of my all time favorite tracks, that lead synth is just so fucking good. Sneila is one of the best goa producers to come out in recent years, too bad he stopped producing. I've talked to him on various occasions and he isn't producing anymore, does a webdesign business. Told me he sold all his producing equipment :(

I used flying objects in my mix Summoning of Earth Warriors and The Dreamers Guide in another mix called The Immortal Coil....main webpage here http://www.goa-shoom.net

I've got Pure Planet 3 coming in the mail...son of bitch aint here yet!!!!!:X Also picked up a goa compilation called The Sitting Goddess.

That's too bad. I've enjoyed what I've heard so far. I'm glad there are still producers out there making some quality Goa.

I've been wanting to listen to his Sneila's Implosion album but I haven't been able to find it. Is it any good?

uhhh i didnt know about that cd. 8o all the other tracks i have are the ones released on his website.

this spring is a great one for goa trance!

so far:
albums: merr0w, filteria, afgin
compilations: Sitting Goddess, Pure Planet Vol.3, Organic Vision Vol.1, Suncokreti and Ya Wichna.

and apperently a radical distortion album and a compilation 'alternative colours' from a turkish label are going to come soon. and 2009 still has 7 months left :D

got merrow and filteria, dunno about afgin yet. got sitting goddess, pure planet 3, organic vision, and suncokreti.

gonna try and pick up ya wichna, suprised there is a new (?) SETI Project track on it
