glassine brand bags

anybody know where on the net you can order those little bags?..not with the H in them..just the bags..

i am talking comparatively, lacey! i wouldn't think i'd have to spell it out here for you. Compared to E, heroin is mild. The physiological effects are what i am talking about. How it effects your heart, etc. I'm not talking strong amounts of heroin, im saying COMPARATIVELY FOR THE AVERAGE USER an amphetamine is worse than h. ugh, i hope understand where i am coming from now

it would be intrusive to ask taht question out of nowhere, dude.
im in seattle, and yourself?

Its not out of no where.. you mentioned something about your city so I asked which one, I wouldn't have asked if you didnt get my mind wondering lol. Never knew seattle had a heroin problem, but then again what major US city doesnt now a days. Do you get alotta black tar an mexican junk there or is there stuff of quality? Im from bmore.

no, i said it would INTRUSIVE to ask a random user on the street if i can peek at their glassine bags!

ive never heard of baltimore, that's where youre from right? having a problem. Here, hell remember Cobain? and how about the dude from alice in chains? lived on the needle and died on the needle. so, im very surprised seattle never came on the radar for you.

Just as i have not seen actual glassine bags,
i have NO CLUE what type of H comes through here.

seattle is all tar, no powder. and they dont package it in the bags you guys are talking about. you see those bags in philly, nyc, dc, baltimore and most likely whereever powder is sold. most tar in seattle, san fran, portland comes wrapped in a piece of plastic shopping bag, or sometimes saran wrap.

Ahh K. :) I thought that seemed a little weird if it was addressed to me. You've never heard of Baltimore??? The big city on the East Coast in Maryland? Jeez we only have one of the highest murder/teen age pregnancy/siphilis/heroin addiction/crime rates in the country. 8o Get a map and look it up lol

atrain: Thought so. Seems like everywhere on the westcoast is supplied with blacktar, with exceptions in some areas I'm sure.

glassines...

Stamped glassines started off in N.Y.C. in the early 70s [like 72] as a way to trademark ones material and build brand loyalty. If a junky bought a really hot bag and started telling his running buddys about it he could say "Yo man, that "Checkmate" in the schoolyard over on 141 is banging!"Everyone could then go and seek it out.If they were selling it in say, tinfoil,a person would walk up and down 141 and as soon as he saw someone with tinfoil bags he would "cop."It protected the seller as well as the buyer. Before glassines most dope in N.Y.C. was sold in capsules or very rarely in baloons.Since 72 it almost universally sold in stamped glassines. The couple of exceptions have been plastic heat sealed bags almost identically sized to the glassines and in little pieces of twisted up baggies [for "chocofine -Mexican brown]".

It used to be that dealers had their own stamp and they would treat it like it was the key to their success.Nowadays most dealers buy their dope already bagged and stamped so stamps usually have no longetivity. Some stamps are seen again and again...

and why are they so sinister? what a way to demonize heroin more than the government has!

I think it's a matter of appearing 'hard' or 'street'

I'd get a chuckle if I bought a back of smack with Pikachu on it, but Pootie from the block might consider it childish.

Mail ordering glassines...

They have a legitimate use as storage for stamps and coins for hobbyists.that should help you.Other than that hit New York and try certain bodegas.

By the way,its not only heroin that one finds in stamped glassines.Nickels of coke also come in identical packaging [albeit never in identical stamps].you can find dust [and in the past weed] in stamped manilla [tiny] envelopes but the stamps are not even close to being as intricate...just a phrase like "Parkside" or "Valid."Only one brand of dust was ever packaged like heroin or coke:"Crazy Eddie" on E.103rd back in the 80s but that was due to the owner getting most of his money from heroin.

i said 'I never heard of baltimore having an H problem.' it looked like i said i never heard of baltimore because i used bad grammar by adding a question mark and ending the sentence in a period. Haha, crap.

given that pills brands are meaningless, why should heroin brands be worthy of discussion? surely it's even easier to put any old rubbish in a stamped bag?

because pharmacutical companies who produce pills and their brands arent the same as drug dealers and the drugs and self-made brands they sell. Read my and others explanations earlier in this topic.

i'm talking about brands on pills purported to contain mdma. one 'white mitsubishi' pill may be completely different from another even though they appear similar.

so, two bags with stamps on them could (much more) easily contain different substances.

in the interests of harm reduction, it's very important to help people understand that they don't judge a book by its cover.

i brought this topic up because i wanted to know why i have never heard of heroin brands, and why they have such dark and creepy names and images attached to them. i think it's a fascinating part of drug culture. i see people glorify the diversity and animation that mdma pills are branded with and that are shaped/cut into as well, such as stars, by making websites devoted to all the different pill brands in the world or collecting them like beach shells. So, since h has a similar branding, i wanted to know why their brands don't hold the same souveneir-appeal that the pill brands do.

Souveiner appeal of brand names...

Actually there are people who are just as fascinated by heroin/cocaine brand names. There are people who collect them and there is even an artist who makes 5 digits for his 3 dimensional artwork. He uses different material but a favorite is going to a specific area [housing project, block, etc.] and finding whatever discarded drug packaging is on the ground.Alot of times these packages still have a negligible amount of material inside them.He then affixes these packages to a canvas and coats it with an epoxy to offer it some durability. He received some acclaim a few years ago and then had one of his shows here in New York Ciry shutdown by the police as the District Attorney decided whether or not to charge him.

That brings me to a rather unfortunate personal experience I had with the phenomena...About 22 years ago my wife [at the time] developed such a fascination and unbeknownst to me started collecting my used glassines. One day while I was at work her meddlesome aunt [who was visiting] decided to snoop through my wifes bureau, saw the used glassines,as well as a stash of syringes my wife had stored for me.The aunt decided that it must be some sort of drug thing [how clever she was] and called the police.Unfortunately at the time we were living in a small town in New Jersey in a half hearted attempt at a geographical cure [for me as she never imbibed] and the small town police had a field day with the information. In New York the cops would have cursed the aunt out but in this little town they practically gave her the keys to the city.

I got home from work about 6:00 P.M. and proceeded to make myself something to eat in the kitchen. All of a sudden there was a knock at the door. The aunt went to answer the door while I sat in the kitchen with my wife. The aunt let the police inside the house and they made a beeline right to me."We received a tip about you from a disgruntled friend.Do you mind if we have a look around?"Not knowing my rights as a very young 18 I assented. They went right to the drawer and acted suprised..."Whats this?We know this is acid..."I laughed in their face up until the point I was handcuffed and Miranded."To make a long story short I received 5 days time served and a misdemeanor conviction on my record so I do nopt think of those little glassines as something cute to be collected...

rach, your post reminds of a funny story. in 1991 i was living in philly, in west philly actually, and the crack epedemic was full blown. all the streets in my neigborhood were littered with empty plastic vials. the vials were octagon shaped i think, they looked like pieces of a bic pen. anyway, the came with a rock in them and a colored cap to seal the vial.
one day i was in a park and i saw a white guy picking up the vials and the caps. i asked him what he was doing and he showed me that he had hundreds of these caps , in a variety of colors. he explained that he was using them to make a mosaic of hitler's face that he was going to present to the chief of police in philadelphia. unfortunately, i never got to see this masterpiece, although i heard that he did finish it and tried to give it to the chief while the chief was presenting a public speach. i think the artist might have been arrested. it was pretty funny at the time.
