Give 5 me good reasons why EADD social chat shouldn't migrate over to Social.

Should Eadd social chat migrate over to Social?

re: Tranced

Poorly made decisions, and relationships with vulnerable people being taken advantage of.

You're right, it's there for people to post in, nothing stopping anyone. But no one encouraging it either...

I'm just saying there is an overlap in content, which makes it seem a little redundant. You could be helping reduce the costs involved in maintaining the site by trimming some of the fat.

re: FUBAR, why not give it a go first before shitting all over the thought :D

Honestly I see what you're getting at with the 'more integrated community' idea, and I'm not opposed to that in theory. Thing is, there are a lot of decent regular EADD posters that I reckon would probably just stop posting altogether if faced with a choice of that or get involved in Social. That's really just the way of it, and would be my biggest concern if this was to be a thing. :\

Also, other forums (PD springs to mind as an example) have their own social threads which are primarily inhabited by the regulars of the particular sub forum. And if you ask me, it is a good thing to have a social space that caters to the enthusiastic members of a particular sub community within bluelight. OTOH, I do appreciate that EADD is more devolved than just a regional drug discussion forum + gibberings, but personally I think it works as is.

Thanks for the well thought out reply OM (I got it right this time).

Good example re: PD, they have one, well kind of two social threads, the rest is just drug chat.

Is there any reason why we can't discuss the UK drug scene /HR info and have one thread for super local bantz, whilst the rest of the redundant topics already have a home not just in Social but other sub-forums site-wide?

I feel like I'm just playing devil's advocate at this point seeing as there isn't much happening in the way of agreement, what has anyone got to lose by just trying to post in there a little?

Similarly, what am I gaining right now by arguing a point 5% of voters agreed on.

Meh.

Nope everyone's entitled to their opinion, that's all I wanted to get from this...

What was more surprising was the borderline hostility / complete lack of interest in being a more integrated community :?
I have a complete lack of interest in Social. So do others here it seems. If you are so inclined post there.

I still dont get the point of this thread.
They are different subforums with different vibes why try to homogenise them?

That's a valid point. There is nothing stopping anyone by suggesting a particular thread be moved to a more relevant sub. If that thread were moved it might encourage others to have a look around that particular sub and perhaps contribute more there. Similarly there is nothing stopping anyone from posting links within a thread to a relevant sub. Cross posting is a good thing.

Re: Consumer:

Your complete lack of interest is understandable in the sense that you're not contributing what you want to see in it...

I do post anywhere I like on BL, EADD is just slower paced and easier for me get involved in most of the time because I know the members.

I'm trying to make an effort side wide is all. Don't wanna live in a bubble.

The vibes are less different than you think - in fact that just sounds like typical narrow minded xenophobia...we could all argue that there shouldn't be someone from Aus posting here, just as much as Julie complained earlier that it's full of AMERICANS.

Think of how it transitioned from it's previous incarnation - there's no reason vibes cannot merge.

Anyone is welcome, no matter where you're from. The BLUA still stands, there might just be more bullshit to wade through at first, but if you've got any wit, you'll probably find yourself enjoying the new interactions / other cool people on the board.

You can either spread the love or insulate yourselves, up to you guys. The choice is yours.

I'm aware your opinion on the matter is pretty set in stone, so don't worry man, I'm not trying to convince anyone to do something they have no interest in, post where you want. I'm just suggesting better ways to stream line activity and interaction amongst all members of the site, and stop this THEM VS US bullshit some people are so keen to cling onto.

Peace.

Re: Sadie - cool thanks for the balanced perspective.

Nah fuck that, you're not getting out of it that easily.

I just have no desire to be part of social. It is not about being insular or whatever it is simply a matter of I and it seens others like EADD and choose to post here. It really is that simple.

I dont like the vibe of social. Thats my personal opinion. The people that post there do and enjoy it just as i enjoy EADD. Horses for courses bro.

Peace love and gluten free mungbeans

I'm trying to change the vibe as we speak bro. I may fail, but fuck it at least I tried.

Now I'm off to stare at zephyrs baps again.

Qft.

We could have say an EADD Social Nudie thread, and just post all the social tit pics in there.

Kind of integration but kind of not.
