As noted, Guy Fawkes thread was removed to a special home reserved for especially special threads. It’s actually more of an honour than you’d think - I’ve literally never needed to do that before so quite the achievement in clusterfukkery 😃

Feel free to start a new thread on the same topic… just try to avoid repeating literally any of the posts it contained ;)
 
For the record…

A Guy Fawkes thread was posted by @Zopiclone bandit. Perfectly legit and obviously no problem. However…

Said thread rapidly devolved into political mudslinging, suggestion to self-delete (and take the family out too) and (arguably) pro-terrorism.

Funnily enough this is not allowed. Most specifically the “kill yourself” posting is very strictly prohibited.

As such, I took the mod decision to nuke the entire thread. It could be argued this was the more lenient response versus going in with a big stick handing out warnings and/or infractions.

It could also be argued - certainly by me - that I could have handled the situation better by directly contacting individual members informing them of why their posts were unacceptable.

However, we’re all veterans of BL standards and should probably know better so I opted for the quick and merciful release of nuclear annihilation.

If anyone has a problem with the decision feel free to contact senior staff. My stick is rusty and things are done differently now compared to a decade ago. Onwards and upwards, folks 💜

Oh, and Guy Fawkes did nothing wrong ✊✊✊
 
Fuuuuuuuuuck me just when I thought this week had peaked...

Had to walk through an environmental health visit yesterday while high as a fucking kite. It was my day off and I'd taken 20mg of valium 300mg of pregabalin and something like 200mg of ritalin the night before. Oh yeah I also plugged 45mg of TMA2 and vaped 20/10mg of 4-ho-met/4-aco-dmt, nearly forgot about that...

I'd only been asleep for a couple of hours when I got the call and was still strung the fuck out. Could barely walk or talk had double vision the entire time.

Got a 5* somehow and still have a job somehow. Don't ask how must be that god loves me and hates me at the same time. Can hardly remember what happened.

Fucking hell hospitality life.
 
Tried making the above post yesterday but I was too fucked up to type.

Also tried ordering a phone online apparently but based on multiple emails from klarna/ebay I infer that I was too fucked up to do that either.

And the local authorities think I can be trusted to run a food business...

This is why I never eat out.

I progressed from dosing a few ml every evening every three hours to a few ml every hour

It was just a few months to being unable to walk down the street in public unless I'd had a dose

this was sub-optimal. During the rather fucking bad withdrawals over the week I quit I also had the chorus from "Oh! You Pretty Things" by Bowie stuck on loop in my brain

then I left Nottingham and haven't touched GBL since

I admit that the thread got vitriolic, but I don't recall anything in favour of terrorism.

I was drawn into that thread, so I'm definitely guilty in part. Certainly didn't witness or participate in pro-terrorism rhetoric unless you count a reference to a sixty-something year old song about fighting rogue British auxiliary forces forty years or so prior, plus an Alan Partidge skit that clearly took the piss out of it.

For the record, I don't support any continuation of armed struggle in that particular conflict, and it's for the Irish people to work out, not me.

Maybe I’m a little sensitive due to living in a highly sectarian area - we still get regular Orange Marches here - so Black & Tans is still considered to be… provocative. Think it’s actually banned at local football matches. Dunno, I’m not into sportsball, but that was my thinking on that one.

Do I personally find it offensive? Not in the least. But I’m well aware that as an English my opinion is irrelevant - and rightly so. I am aware of sensitivities around these matters though so erred on the side of caution. My personal feelings probably align much closer with yours… and I agree violence is not the answer.

All that aside, the thread was still a shitshow and, as noted, the murder/suicide aspect was what really made the nuclear option the best one imo.

As I say, I’m still relearning the new BL and EADD situation. Things are just different now we’re owned by and based in Australia. Rules are just stricter like it or not :\

Not trying to outdo anyone, but my paternal family's home and street is full of bullet holes and burns from the Black and Tans burning Cork in 1920. So I am very conscious of the Tans myself.

Even the British didn't want to be associated with them, not giving them a proper uniform. If anything, the Tans were the actual terrorist force of the time.

The song is just an old song. It isn't banned.

Anyone else having an issue staying logged in? I log in, close the browser, open browser, load website, gotta log in again. It's fine on my phone or PC, just this laptop it seems to be an issue with.
 
I'm not having any issues like that. Is the laptop browser wiping your profile, cookies, stored pswds etc for all websites?

I think browsers like Brave do that by default, so you have to change the settings if you want it to save anything.
