It's not that bad anymore tbh, but I think it's always best for would-be intrepid explorers like your good self to discover these things naturally and not have other people's fears projected onto you, eh? I've always got along with both factions anyway! They're all a little mad there really, some great people though, and some a little more unpredictable. But you live in babylon anyway so you're used to this shit. I can't remember anyone being killed there anyway, plenty of deaths over the years but no murder (ok, a few savage beatings, always well deserved though I think)

As for the Cornish Chyan, nah never heard of 'em. That kinda scene in Cornwall is quite similar to Wales though, have always noticed that. The landscape (coasts in particular) and people are quite similar too really - both not too keen on being adjoined to England in some ways too

I did spend a couple summers in Cornwall and attended the infamous Treworgey Tree Fayre in 1989 which is now regarded as perhaps the last great uk free festival. Well, I say 'free' it wasn't. But when a couple thousand travellers removed the poxy perimeter fence the 'security' (thug gangs from Birmingham and Bristol iirc) shit themselves and fucked off home (and robbed the cash takings from the poor farmer whose site it was, the cunts), and then it was a free festival from the friday afternoon onwards. 20k tickets were sold but over 60k attended, and that's a conservative estimate. The aggravating issue was that there were a big group of us on one side of the site (outside it) and loads of our families/friends on the other side. And the security etc would not let either side cross or go round to the other. There was also a furor due to one of security stealing a 9-bar of high quality hash from a particularly belligerent traveller posse which as you can imagine did not go down too well. So after a few hours 'negotiating' we just smashed the fences down with the big army trucks. Dispute over. One may argue the morality or whatever but that's what happened, shrug. I remember the starriest sky I had ever seen and Hawkwind playing on the back of of friend-of-a-friends lorry (Wango Rileys Travelling Stage) to an expected audience of 1000 in the 'travellers field' which was outside the festi....but now was inside and there was no outside or barriers anymore...and the crowd they drew was estimated at 20,000. It was most of Hawkwind anyway, and they were still fantastic live at that point (up until the early/ mid 90's imo anyway) and here endeth the totally unasked for history of the uk underground lesson (with honourable mention to our old friend Mr Amphetamine Sulphate for providing the impetus)

Cloves might not be so bad, a bit spicy for my tastes maybe. Damiana and chamomile both make quite nice herbal smokes. And weed obviously.
