Its a good 3 years since I gave up drinking (oddly I don't know the date) my health is better for it both physically and mentally but i's along way from bringing huge changes in me or my life, it was just out of control and getting worse, nothing else has taken hold of me and been so detrimental.
I never drank in the morning, I had to go to work. I'd start as soon as I got in and get through a bottle of whiskey by about 1am before collapsing into bed, at a weekend I still wouldnt start before 12, 11 at the earliest. I never skipped a day, it was a true habit and I felt I could live without it, benzos were bad but I rate alcohol addiction as worse.
I don't really miss it, well not often, I rarely go out to things where drinking is happening these days and my drinking was always at home anyway.
We are of to Strawberry Fair today, it looks like the sun will shine but I'm betting the hippies will still be damp
