I

I did 1mg of Xanax about 6am just to be greedy, but I'm chipper this morning, cleaned the kitchen fed my youngest and scrubbed the carpet in the spare room as I came home yesterday to discover my dig had been a bit poorly, all cleaned up now and he seems fine this morning.

I have no chance of sleep if I do any quantity of speed after about 2pm usually do a couple of nights just cuz I can't resist but I'll likely have a few hours lie down which I find makes the world of difference and relaxes muscles as well. Most stims would not allow me to lie quietly and relax where as speed does and there is no desperate despite to redoes.

I've counted that I've washed my hands at least 15 times this morning, all dog related ... NerdB is away for a week and he's still a puppy really so I've got to do everything. Luckily he's fully house trained, but he's in the habit of trying to eat his own poo, if you don't pick it up quickly enough .. and sometimes he steps in it if youre not there when he does it, so I like to be there as it happens so to speak., so it's not left in the garden. He wont actually poo on his walks, and always waits until he gets home! Looking after a puppy is a full time job. I would've been much more suited to an older rescue dog but NerdB prefered a puppy cause we couldn't find the right kind of rescue dog for us; all the lurcher types we saw were all huge.

Meh, my pc HD finally died this morning, it's been going for about a year. And my laptop is having boot issues, it's been dopped a few times and I think some of the hardware connections need checking, as well as it needing a hoovering. Might have to do it myself since he's away for a week. I'll probably be too rough with it and fuck it up tho

Holy shit.

I'm back on good terms with Atm! We have a healthy PM relationship.

I just didn't think to ask via PM. Up to now I thought Allein was a mod-of-ye-olde EADD and would not take kindly to prying questions from over inquisitive new mods trying to help the old, jaded mods feel included.

I didn't need to ask, and I had no previous PMs to tip me off either %)

Is it taken from The Man from Earth?

And while on the topic of that movie, has anyone here seen it?

I fucking LOVED it. It's complete and utter toss science, but I don't care, as a movie it works

It's essentially just 8 or so intellectuals in a room chatting, but it was ace entertainment.

Anyone who's not seen it should purchase a copy immediately

Done on an extremely low budget, but it's all about the script/concept rather than action, which there's little of.

It's not taken from The Man from Earth, no. That would've completely blown the budget :D

I agree that it is a lil hidden gem of a film. The bloke who wrote (and (I think) directed) it is best known for his TV sci-fi stuffs (although I'm buggered if I can recall which ones he writes for :!) and was a bit of a labour of love of his, apparently. More of a play than a film but that's not a criticism cos I'd never have seen it if it had've been a play. Well worth a watch. You just get completely drawn in to the tale being told as if you are one of the people present. Thought-provoking lil fillum so it is.

wasn't it the guy's son that directed it? I think the bloke who wrote it died before the film finally got made after it took ages to get it produced? (and to get the book adapted to a screenplay to the standard that the guy and his son required, or summat to that effect)

I'm remembering that from when I first saw it in 2008 tho, so it's probably all wrong n mixed up

Nup. Is me who got it all wrong and mixed up, Mz Marmz. Just pottered and you iz correct. The fella wot wrote it also wrote some of the original Star Trek and Twilight Zone episodes. Also, Fantastic Voyage (story not script, Isaac Asimov wrote the novelisation which I know cos I did dun read it not long ago). Mmm... Raquel Welch in lycra fending of giant antibodies <3
