MM do you ever do the prison round? Don't they have sacks of mail every day just for them? Do you get to deliver cakes with files in and stuff? That's such a cool thing to do MM, we're all proud of you.
 
I don't do the Princetown round no.

I think the prisons still repair our mail sacks.

They're always jumping with fleas anyway. And stink.
 
Looking back at when I worked as a postman (part-time, student job) it wasn't all that bad really. Listened to loads of new stuff over my headphones. Then again, I didn't have to deal with sleet in mid-May were I lived.

Anyone read Marilyn Manson's autobiography? It's hilarious. We had it in the bathroom and over the course of about three months' worth of shitting I managed to finish the whole thing. Sounds like an angry 15 year old. Love his music (well pre-mOBSCENE) and actually Mechanical Animals was the first album I ever bought (along with 5ive's album :D) and been a diehard fan ever since. But the guy's a twat.

Marilyn Manson's autobiography is the kind of thing I'd probably read for a laugh (at his expense) - I own a copy of the Satanic Bible for similar chuckles.

I have a weakness for rock star biogs / autobiogs, from the painfully frank, confessional affairs to the obvious PR exercises. It's nearly all trash regardless, but I can recommend this one for sheer macho ridiculousness:

Even if you have no idea who this guy is, or don't care for his music (I don't!), then here are some reader reviews:

This is truely the worst book I've ever read. For two reasons, the first is that Paul doesn't seem to have a single redeeming feature about him (sexist, rascist, egotisical) I thought this might have some interesting anecdotes and insights to the music industry but it's just a bloke showing off how many drugs he's done like a bragging school boy.

The second reason is that the publishers obviously feel the same as me about him (think he's a c*nt) so they didn't even bother to proof read the book before they published it. It was absolutely littered with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, including one in the blurb on the back cover.

Hopefully I'll be able to sell this on Amazon and get back some of my wasted money!

Paul Di’Anno, when not in jail for assault or disability fraud, is in a state of perpetual arrested development.

Scattered among the cool rock stories about touring with Kiss and rocking the stage aside Steve Harris, Di’Anno is like a little boy who will never learn his lesson. Girlfriend after girlfriend, fight after fight, arrest after arrest, Di’Anno never seems to grow up.

As if an apology makes up for it, he says he is “deeply ashamed of” a drunken incident when he repeatedly pummeled a woman half his size in the face. Di’Anno states that ,”if I could turn back the clock, I would,” but he also admits that it wasn’t the first time it happened.

I don't know why, but I couldn't put it down. Utter horseshit, from cover-to-cover. Worse than those football hooligan biogs.

Have you read THE DIRT or not, the Motley Crue one? I have a strong suspicion we've discussed it already.

Whaaaaat?! I saw him support Rob Zombie and I like some of MM's music (well, Mechanical Animals, at least) but it was a pretty awful gig.

I still need to read that Crue book.

Least you finally got some sleep! Did you have to abscond to the use of benzos?

I've been trying to drink myself into a coma, or at least get some kip.
 
Nup. No benzos here. Well, there are benzos here but I didn't take any. Was just sheer exhaustion really. Hardly slept more than a couple hours a day these last few weeks. Was just long overdue and much-needed is all. And have tapered down enough of the phenibut to make it happen more often. Although didn't wake up feeling exactly stellar but ho-hum. Only to be expected really.

I always found booze was shite for sleeping. Just keeps me awake. I do have bad guts though (ulcer might've come back - woot!) and lie awake for hours with crippling cramps and heartburn when I drink too much now.

Insomnia is shite :!

I have no benzos, docs won't give em me cause of the massive amounts of doses I take. Still can't catch kip for shite.

Will be fine thanks, Pagey. Had an ulcer for over a decade. Finally got rid of it when I found a doc who knew about the antibiotic treatment for it a few years ago. Have been getting the same symptoms this last year or so though. Prescribed omeprazole which usually does the trick. Really do just need to step away from the booze though. At least in massive excess (which is generally my favoured approach to booze due to tolerance). Have had a week (bit more even, I think) with no booze and have felt better for it. Have been distracted by phenibut though which provides most of the upsides of booze and none of the downsides... it provides a whole new range of downsides all of its own instead :\
