Think the news got a bit lost cos was around xmas time - Sun report. Plus he was more ITV so didn't quite fit the BBC-hounding focus of the overarching story, I suppose. Was a biology teacher at a private boy's school before being a freaky-jumper clad, island-hopping, weather-presenting oddity apparently so was probably in his contract to bugger the boys anyway.

Do you think that modern policing / the ability to trace folk via internet connections etc. is exposing more of these vile folk or do you think there is a rise in pedophilia in general because of the false belief of being anonymous via the internet? What I mean is are folk who have these urges (yuck) more likely to act on them (trade images/videos etc.) because of the internet where perhaps they wouldn't have access to such material before the internet's rise?

Reading that back sounds nonsense hope it's clear what I'm trying to get at, sorry still a bit shell shocked from hearing the sad news about Xamkou and fuzzy thanks to my little darling who decided I need to be up at 5.30 and when I have to wake her in about 10 minutes times will be an absolute grump. Love her though <3 but I know she's going to be a pain in the arse this morning.

Nah. Most of all the flurry of celebrity noncing goes back decades. There's always been noncing. Overall levels have probably gone down on recent years if anything, I'd bet. Just go back a hundred years and child prostitution was absolutely rife and - worse - bordering on being socially acceptable. Even when I was a kid there's was always a few local creepy blokes who all the kids were warned to stay away from. Everybody knew it went on but nobody seemed to think it was worth prosecuting cos who's gonna believe the word of a few kids over the local vicar or whatever? Parents just warned the kids to stay away and those that didn't stay away just got swept under the carpet for the most part. It's taken far more seriously today - pendulum of proof has swung firmly the other way and is now almost the case that anyone accused has to prove their innocence. And even then they'll be labelled for life, named and shamed by the tabloids and generally have their lives made a living hell whether there's any truth to the allegations or not. Fine if there is, not so great when there isn't. Better than how it used to be though.

He's terrible, eleven feet tall, eyes like fire, voice like the slamming of a thousand hundred foot metal doors. Breath like buttered toast, strangely, but it's the other stuff which is more striking at first.

Happy Valentines Day, I'm not one for commerce-fests but I like tradition.

Mugz just post what everyone else does, funny stuff, interesting stuff, discuss issues. You you you all the time is getting very boring.
 
Morning all. Been and signed on this morning. Going to apply for a trainee funeral director job, its only 5 hours a day to start with. This is the first job I've seen that I really want to get.
I know when my wife passed away they treated her body with great respect and they let me come to see and spend some time with her while she was still in the funeral home.
I would find it interesting work I think and I would like to help others the way I was helped.
Fingers crossed.
