Aww yeah, can relate to that. Remember spending a night with a lass I was seeing and all the old SNES Marios on the Wii, was well fun.

Still got my Megadrive sat in the corner of my room, in full working order, just need a power cable for it. Can't believe I've had that thing about 20 years and it's never failed me. Still got a fair few games too.

1st thing I ever got was a Commadore (sp?) 64, then moved up in the worlds to a Master system from Sega.
Finally got up to a Mega Drive then my game days died sadly :(

Still love Mortal Kombat even at my age though :)

Megadrive was great fun and I wasted way too many hours playing it - not sure where mine went too?

Can you remember the game Gunship Commander (Helicopter simulator[like we know the difference])? Was about 5 cassettes long :D - took about 2 days to load! Still loved 'Elite' on the ZX spectrum - smallest keyboard ever : Load ""

I got really into those emulators for PC (NES/SNES, Megadrive, PS1, MAME, (EDIT: and Spectrum - cos was me first pooter and I loved it so <3) etc) for a while. Not used 'em in ages but should get around to it. Very playable and mucho fun some of those oldskool games. And will run on even the shitiest of PCs which has been a boon in the past. Not looked into the gameplaying possibilities of me new pooter yet so no idea what kinda stuffs it'll be up for. Not that I play games often enough to be that fussed about keeping up to date with new ones though tbh.

Looking after the maw's pal's dug again for a few days. Tried to tie an "I'm A House Gangster" bandana to it but failed miserably lol. Had to take it for a stroll with nae bandana, gutted.

It's currently lying next to me on the couch trying to hijack more & more of the couch, got my laptop balanced at a crazy angle coz the cunt keeps trying to lie it's drooly face on the keyboard haha.

Ditto Shambles, I went stupid for downloading roms, got hundreds of discs full of Saturn, N64, Dreamcast, etc. etc. games. I get the thing running at a decent speed, configure a controller, make it fullscreen, play for 2 minutes then never play it again. Just burn hundreds of roms to a disc and let it gather dust. The holy grail for me would be running GTi Club by Konami on mame (because I used to own a Renault 5 :D), still not sure if they have it running properly. Going to look into it now. Thanks for the inspiration.

I could've typed that post out word for word, Ben :D

Never tried the Saturn or Dreamcast ones (any good? seem to remember there were some decent games for them but never had a go on either) but the N64 one was great <3

Panza Dragoon ! Well worth a play :D

I should be starting to cook tea but tad to wasted - needles to say no photos will be taken tonight :D. Gutted as dug my Fanny Cradock plate out !

Virtual Cop was classic - had to have the guns though ! There in a box in my ex's house - wonder if they would mind me picking them up :D

Buggeration and arsemongery. Found all the wires and bobz for me pooter speakers, connected it all (is like a bomb went off at Spaghetti Junction down there 8() switched pooter back on. Speakers hum into life. Pooter itself deader. Panic mode. Unplugged speakers and all is good in the shambolic hood once more. Am guessing it objected to having to share a triple-header plug adaptor thingy. Ah well. At least it didn't explode - had me worried ferra minute though 8o - onwards and upwards. They didn't design the wiring with the multivarious leccy gizmo needs of future tenants in mind when they built this place methinks :\

Under the circumstances, investing in a better multiplug adaptor and/or extension lead to trail across the room ain't so bad in the grand scheme. Near miss, methinks. Would be just my luck to explode me lovely new pooter within a day of starting to use it :D

Genuinely wanna play that. Never tried Speccy emulators, gonna have a looksee now I think. My favourite Spectrum games were The Hobbit and Ah Diddums, even though I'm pretty sure I only ever got about five screens into The Hobbit. Need to look into Amiga emulation too, loved Elf for it, dunno if it was the full game I played or a demo but it was a pretty unique adventure platformer set in the woods and the graphics were lovely. Still a huge fan of the brightly coloured pixellated look.

I took a 6 year old to see Wreck it Ralph the other day which was full of old & new video game references. Between us she was too young and I was too old to understand most of it. That and I kept falling asleep to be awoken by a little tap tap tap on my arm followed by 'why is he doing that?' 'why is she going there?' 'what's that for?' so I did some really impressive improvisation.

The best bit was when the credits rolled and we had our own private rave to the end music at the very back.

6 year old aren't excited by 3D either, I nearly wet my pants with excitement but she was distinctly underwhelmed. After all it's what the world looks like, so whats impressive about that?

Oh god, 3D still amazes me. Absolutely overwhelmed by Super Mario Land on the 3DS like every time I play it. Can't get over being able to see 3D effects without glasses, even though I'm fairly au fait with technology. I wanna see Wreck it Ralph, dunno whether you're much older than me, but the poster had me pretty excited for it, mainly cos I think M. Bison is awesome.

Two of my fave Speccy games too, Snolls. Had similar luck with The Hobbit but still loved it. Was a big fan of text adventures me. And I thought only person alive who would remember Ah Diddums :D

Probably just youthful enthusiasm but I used to play those simple lil ol' 48k Speccy games hour after hour after hour for weeks, months and years at a stretch. Very few modern games can compete in terms of obsessive overplaying even though they are often far superior in almost every conceivable way. Although I must admit that doesn't quite work in practice cos there ain't many ol' Speccy games that I played on the emulator for more than a brief nostalgia trip. Got all me PS2 games back recently that I'd loaned out to somebody - and got a couple of his on loan in return - so need to set me PS2 up on tellybox sometime soon methinks. PS3 is still but a fantasy dreamworld for me until they start being sold off as cheap as PS2s are now on eBay when the next gen consoles arrive.

In totally unrelated news, boilerman phoned earlier - he's coming to have a looksee tomorrow at last. Might even be warm by the end of the week. Which is deserving of a "Woot! methinks. So... Woot! =D

EDIT: Bloody typical. NobCentre just phoned me to remind me I've got an appointment with the disability advisor there tomorrow. Handy cos I never received the letter informing me I needed to see a disability advisor, less handy that I'm supposed to be waiting in all afternoon for the boilerman. The unbelievable level of bullshit and fuckabout involved in being sick/disabled since the government kowtowed to the fukkin Heil readership is getting beyond a joke. Insane levels of beaurocracy must be costing ridiculous money. Make the lives of sick/disabled folk all but unliveable and increase the welfare costs at the same time. Fukkin genius idea.

Used to love all the megadrive stuff as well, Goldenaxe, Streets of rage etc :D
Anyone play the point and click PC stuff like Day of the Tentacle or Sam&Max?

Good luck with your disability interview Shammy, hope they don't try and fuck you over what with the recent stories and all.

Finished Day of The Tentacle and a couple of Monkey Islands on my phone about a year back, got to say that the Tentacle was quite irritating in terms of getting stuck and having to combine various random inventory items to proceed... it doesn't seem as logical as the Monkey Island series.
