Why do people not explore Western mystery traditions as readily? Is it because they don't provide quite the same sense of self-satisfaction?

We live in a country that ostensibly follows a religion that originated in a distant land. Our own beliefs were ruthlessly suppressed under its reign.

We don't need to look east and patronise other races in what is essentially noble savage syndrome's ultimate manifestation. Look at China and India. What enlightened societies. Inequality and hatred are just as prevalent there.

Look into your own legacy for once. It's richer than you've been led to believe.

I explored them all and really didn't want to be a Christian. I had a warped idea of what that was. Ultimately it was an irresistible draw. I saw power and Love in the bible and in the church i joined. I needed to get a single pointed focus which excluded other faiths because, well its a narrow road. BUT at the place ive been led to there is freedom to worship in spirit and Truth. 'perfect Love casts out fear because fear is to do with punishment' threes freedom to enjoy Life and Creation with Worship and thanksgiving.

I am eager to study other faiths especially shamanism and Native American practices because they have been part of my journey. ( even though at one time i dropped them to focus on Christ.. not in hatred or fear)

Everyone has thier own journey but there is a place of sacrifice and the cross/redemption is central to it in my opinion. We all get crushed to nothing and in that nothing its important to have an anchor, HOPE and promises.

I got into a right boozed and stimmed debate with my recently turned religious friend, with his 2 religious friends, 1 which was his misses, hes always been spiritual and a realest but he thinks he needs god to find himself and guidance, went to this meeting thing and they all hugged and he got blessed and he felt this feeling come over him or something and everybody clapped and other shit, they couldnt grasp my view on god as being everything, science, the definition of god being the universe, instead of "him" . the closest thing ive experienced to meeting a presence is a pure love female entity on DMT, she told me everything is love. we are all one, everything is connected. there just is. now

Holy shit thats tragic typing, sorry lol what the fuck. boarderline Mydrugsbuddy

Interesting point. Takes me back 4 or 5 years to when I saw the Dalai Lama give some talks up in Nottingham. He was quite critical of Buddhism as currently practised by his own people in Tibet. All scarfs and flags and not enough substance if I understood him correctly. Maybe its an occupational hazard when ever you look at a situation in which you compare people who independently seek out a belief system slightly later in life with people who grew up in it from word go. Strictly talking averages here of course.

yeah, Buddhism is very individual. They have the Sanga ( church) and deities but there doesnt seem to be sacrificial devotion or trust. If you are called to walk through what looks like a raging fire to get to a destination there needs to be trust and Love in the one that is leading you and submission. I know a lot of people don't like that word but if you are walking through valleys of shadows and darkness its imperative that there is a Master or shepherd who knows what 'he's' doing and where he's going.

Sometimes it feels like you are being pulled to pieces and robbed of all that you are and the clinging is painful. But if you have faith and trust that you will be filled and renewed by a Loving God you have a rock to cling to in a squall.

Hope im not being too preachy this evening???

Our bodies are temples Dan but I had a smoke the other day and my whole being was a festival. Played some good tunes, gave the inner party plenty of nicoteen, diet Coke and skunk lol.

Loads of VIPs attended. Danny drove off with Sandy in Greece lightening lol and i was crushed.

Never really explored skunk it used to make me a bit para but i braved it out for the good of my inner party. They coerced me to smoke it for them.

Ed: I just dont believe in rules exactly anymore.. more following and just letting go to what God (who can be the hedon of hedonists) fancies doing. Thats Grace rather than laws, rules and karma.

Everyone can have a personal relationship with God and ask for themselves where to go and what to do. Take drugs dont take drugs. Walk this way or that way? That said ( :), there is a time of learning, like a boot camp and that involves study and church.

My kids just threatened to put me in a dodgy retirement home when I was older. One of those musky ones where they feed you dog food. They said they would pay the hot nurses to stay away and the only sponge bath I will get get was from the male nurse with the questionable collection on his hard drive.

I was thinking about it and imagining just sitting around high on drugs in my pissed stained pyjamas, looking around the room wondering if the new face I see is because someone new had moved in to old man Smiggles room or if that is in fact Old man Smiggles and I have finally lost my marbles. I don't want to get to know them too well because they are only going to die any way. I am not afraid of death, because there is no point in trying to save those old codgers, if they want to die who am I to try and stop them? Who am I to say that too many drugs is actually causing their death? Who am I to get in the way of their last sponge bath or even last full erection? Why point out a train wreck or even care? After all we are all going to die some day, may as well be in a dark room alone with some mid day movie flickering on the television and a can of warm ironbru on the side table.

Fucking punk arse kids don't know shit. I have been in EADD.

i'm not afraid of it either in fact I don't believe in it anymore. There is no death just change. Death has no dominion in Truth.

And death shall have no dominion.
Dead man naked they shall be one
With the man in the wind and the west moon;
When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone,
They shall have stars at elbow and foot;
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion.

And death shall have no dominion.
Under the windings of the sea
They lying long shall not die windily;
Twisting on racks when sinews give way,
Strapped to a wheel, yet they shall not break;
Faith in their hands shall snap in two,
And the unicorn evils run them through;
Split all ends up they shan't crack;
And death shall have no dominion.

And death shall have no dominion.
No more may gulls cry at their ears
Or waves break loud on the seashores;
Where blew a flower may a flower no more
Lift its head to the blows of the rain;
Though they be mad and dead as nails,
Heads of the characters hammer through daisies;
Break in the sun till the sun breaks down,
And death shall have no dominion.
