I like helping others regardless of how it makes me feel. its not all about making yourself feel good, its about trying to be a good person

The fact that you like helping others indicates it makes you feel good! This is a false dichotomy. If it makes you feel good, it means you like doing it :) They are the SAME THING!

so, in short, you mean the action is more important than the motivation behind it ?

No, I mean what you perceive to be the motivation, and choose to talk about, may be the feel-good factor, what another person perceives and talks about may be the moral nature of the deed, but in the end both factors exist in both people, it's a matter of what you're paying attention to.

That weird justin bieber shit springs to mind, his fans going on twitter and cutting themselves and posting up pics of it to stop him smoking weed. the original might have been a hoax but there was pics left right and centre, no doubt some of them were genuine. weird shit

^ that pic of the dog being pinned down...

If somebody did that to their pet just to troll a pop star it shows little love or respect for the dog IMO.
Fucking twitter....its a pile of shoite

Selfisness is ultimately self defeating. Being altruistic is ultimately being selfish because you will feel good. I think. :?:\:sus:;)

It's a false dichotomy, I put a flowchart in my post above ;) you can't have motivation to act without the reward aspect, just because that exists doesn't make it a selfish deal, because the process which updates the "what gets rewarded" table isn't necessarily a selfish process. If you look at "immediate gratification" then behaviour appears to be selfish, but if you instead look at "why is this behaviour gratifying?" then it's not necessarily so.

Anybody read stuff by alan watts? amazing

Very true knock, and what you said earlier

He was such a fucking lovely charming and funny bloke.

QFT, 100% agree there MM.
When I first came to BL & EADD he was the first person I came across & felt "Yeah I like this guy" & my view never changed, I am suprised I am older than Cornish he came across in my mind as someone in their late 40's, though I never knew him irl I really feel sad his gone.
EADD will be a bit more empty now he aint here, my throughts are with his family etc & if there was a Mrs Cornish too.

I had a bit of a crush on Cornishman and I'm as straight as they come.
