That really will change things for a lot of people. Not in a good way in many cases, though there are organised gangs doing on a massive scale.

Ironically it touches upon the very origin of the word 'junky' too.
 
Often the biggest criminals are the actual merchants . Think about it , they facilitate it. It is a big problem but not sure if this is the best way to tackle it
 
Can anyone remember when the copper in 2p was worth more than 2p until they changed the manufacturing process (they tried to keep itt quiet but some people got to know.

Oh aye, I work near a scrapyard. They've got their fingers in all sorts of pies.

You're right though - the sad thing is that the big-time operators will have the resources to get around this, whereas the more vulnerable people who maybe scraped a living from it will sufffer.

All that will happen is it'll get sold on to licensed waste carriers who'll give the seller a crap price for it, but i guess the cops can study their books to try and spot an increase in metal and see who they've been dealing with. Its bad news for a lot of people, but then there's no such thing as a victimless crime. Not that everyone selling scrap is dodgy, its discriminatory against those who don't have a bank account though. Just makes life harder for those who its already the hardest for, and like brimz said its the people at the top of the pile who facilitate.

Like you say brimz, a big many layered problem.

One or two aquaintances of mine spring to mind though, and this will be very shit news for them.

So Talking about Coffee sort of .

What sort of knob actually goes in to Starbucks ?

I can say that i have never ever been in one because i don't like what they stand for . I like Cafe Culture like you have in Spain , Italy , Portugal etc n Starbucks does nothing to enhance it .

In fact they make it harder for the little family Cafe which are really important to the community .

The area i lived was a big Praca n the cafe was under my building everyone from the neighbourhood would go their & i would have hoped that if Starbucks tried opening no one would go in .

Back to the U.K so Starbucks n Google N Amazon are choosing how much tax they fancy paying ( how kind ) . Folk should just boycott Starbucks straight instead of moaning about it .
The other two are cunts as well but Starbucks is the easiest to bouy off
 
I've never been in a starbucks, fuck that noise.

I'm having a coffee just now with a cake, got stoned for the first time in months.
 
I get mine From The Farmers Market been going to the same person for over 5 years .

I got a Ginger one this week £3.50 huge it is. They do a nice Lemon Drizzle as well.
 
I'm lucky enough to live in an area where I have two cafe bars to choose from, either side of the street. One veggie, one not. Both serve an array of coffees and teas, hot chocolate etc. and have a fine selection of continental beer. The food's alright too.

I don't think either Starbucks or Costa would bother setting up around there, because both places are popular and the coffee is far, far better. Though Subway crept in without anybody noticing.

They turned my local Tesco cafe into a Costa!!!
Now instead of being able to go in and get a decent cheap fry up, all I can get is overpriced pastry goods and pretentious coffee. That sucks!!!!
