Gibberings CXCI -- these tarts were made for popping

...is this the best the "internet's premier drug information site" can do?

Gibberings, then called MSN Gibberings, was my idea. The intention, back in about 2004, was to create a thread where mods could dump unrelated ego gibberish better suited to the medium of MSN chat so that drug discussion did not get buried.

What we have today, thanks largely to a small handful of (ok, two) members, is a thread full of inane ramblings that dominates the forum, pushing away drug discussion and promoting the egos of some intelligent people who should know better than to destroy a drug website like this. People are leaving in their droves and those who are left are reluctant to post for seeing their words buried underneath the trivia of small minds.

I propose getting rid of this thread ENTIRELY. Everything in here could easily be done in PM's by those who see it as necessary to have their egos stroked in such a way. There really is no need for the rest of us to be subjected to such rubbish as has been seen to dominate the board for the last x months.

So what say you mods? You want to do something to reinvigorate EADD or not?

Get rid of this tripe now. Get people back to EADD. Drug users discussing drug use. Not a thread entirely taken over by a couple of people for their own ends.

I've no problem with Sam and GLs slightly mawkish interractions, as it happens - there's bigger fish to fry here.
 
I seen in the archives it called MSN Gibberings. I never knew that was your idea, SHM. Why did they change it to Gibs? Closure of MSN chat or general desire?
