Me deciding not to sleep on Tuesday night, so I could have an early night last night and sort out my sleeping plan never worked out. Went to bed late last night, slept till mid day today and here I am at 2am and not in bed and not even that tired. :\
 
It's not about anybody picking on MSB, it's about a flagrant breach of the BLUA (i.e. that lengthy Islamophobic rant, which was reported and therefore had to be dealt with).

For the record, there was a ban imposed on another BL member who posted similar ignorant, bigoted sentiments in CE&P. For those of you who think MSB's been unfairly treated, check it out if you must.

We allow a certain amount of leeway in EADD, as we've always made pains to point out. That doesn't mean we're exempt from the BLUA.

Are we supposed to explain to the staff of other forums that it's all okay because it's MSB and he's just like that? Come on.

If he gets a flat out ban for that then surely I should have received some sort of warning for my, blatantly not Islamophobic, original comment?

Edit - Seeing as it's now deleted I guess it was. So what I say is OK because I add things like "I hate to say this..." but because MSB quite clearly enjoys saying it it's bad? Fuck that.

He clearly hates Islam. So do I. I hate Christians an all. Buddhists are awright, but fuck the rest of them.
 
Have to say I read it, thought 'what a load of right-wing shit', but never for one second thought it was something that would get him banned.

The differences in tone and content between your post and MSB's response were hugely significant. You criticised the excesses of some of the more fanatical protesters, but you also made it clear you believe they're in a minority.

MSB's rant (and it was a hateful rant, no two ways about it) implied that even 'moderate Muslims' harbour anti-western sentiment, and went on to attack the religion. As you say yourself:

Which is all well and good if that's the way you feel, but this is not the place to air your hatred. MSB should find another forum where the expression of such views is tolerated.

As I say, the post was reported, and he's been dealt with in exactly the same way as another member.
