My advice would be to try the N.A meeting. It'll broaden your horizons and give you a story to tell at the very least.
With regards to substance cravings, my other advice is to master the ethos of less is more. Get into low dose sessions (if any at all) & keep that mind intact.

I think you've won half the battle Albion because you have something to strive for.

Ultimately your mind is hungry for knowledge. Not cheap lager and benzos.

Stop setting yourself up for failure. Set achievable, realistic targets. If any at all. You sound pretty normal to me Albion. Apart from being part of the landed gentry like.

Its cold, its grey, its pissing down... must be August bank holiday Monday :)

May postpone devon trip till tomorrow :( A friends over from the States hiding from hurricanes so it could be worse than a bit of rain, my house could be being from around me and my cat could be impaled on a bit of flying fence post.
 
^^^ our staffie is hench,although would jump up and lick an intruder. I won't go into the cat incident,six of one half a dozen of the other n'all that. He has a criminal record but the cat survived.

Apologies, I've recently discovered the joys of a drug called alcohol and I'm determined to abuse it as much as I can for as long as I'm too young to have hangovers.

Not yet MM, Devon first to hopefully see a guy in Braunton about a tat and pick some people up and stand on a beach, by the sea and just watch smell, listen & breathe :) I've been craving that for months, you're so lucky to have access to that every day.

Would be a small world if you knew the guy i'm on about :)

My wife is a fearsome drinker.

I know a couple of scuba folk, but no Scouse ones.

Braunton, I don't go up there much, they're a funny lot Northerners.
 
Ah no sorry i meant the tattoo guy. I didn't realise you were a Southerner :)

For HRs sake be careful with the booze if you're new to it class-a. It'll have you getting catching stds & pregnancy round the back of an alley quicker than you can blink, fractured family relationships alcohol poisoning & liver damage are an optional extra :)

Haha. I should probably wait till I'm off this medication first. I was so bad last night my friends were saying "maybe you should stick to your illegal hard drugs in future." I'm pretty sure alcohol shouldn't feel like a disassociative, albeit a mild one.
