Yeah it's a nightmare. I tried not to seem too upset but I think he was pretty embarrassed about it. But I should've known better cos the EXACT SAME THING happened last week (same drug, different guy obvs). Apparently my friend saw me in the club last night with that guy hours before I decided to go home with him and said "they're going to try and ride but it just won't work." Spot on she was.
 
Woken from intermittent sleep by a phone call at 08:30 this morning. Work. Supplier has made a serious cock-up, ignoring the one thing I told their programmer: check the response. Server is rejecting the data they are sending, and they have no idea of it because they are ignoring the response that should be telling them what they are doing wrong. Nothing I can do about it. Don't need a mobile app to tell me what's about to come blowing my way on Monday, either.

It's enough to drive a girl running into the arms of her smack dealer, seven-day record notwithstanding .....
 
That's always a good way to run your application, fire data into the internet and ignore what comes back. Developers need a slap sometimes. I heard a gem this week - 'The webserver your production environment uses doesn't work with my code. Can you change your webserver to <xyz>.'

What's worse is this is a simple script that accepts a HTTPS GET or POST submission, returns human-readable HTML with exactly one h1 element between which is the result code (so you can match it with a simple regular expression, no need for a fancy parser) and if an important field is missing, it actually returns a form that would be submittable if you called it up in a web browser -- which in turn shows you exactly what the fields should be called. I call it a self-documenting API.

But then, I've been programming since the days when you had to check the return codes of every system call on your own box, because you literally could not be sure that e.g. an fopen() on the local system would actually open the file. These kids today, eh?

Yeah bet he was seriously embarassed, that kind of thing can be devistating to a guy.. although tbh he should expect it to happen.. downfall with stuff like that is lots of horney-ness but sometimes inability to perform.. no good

Blimey. After not much heroin, just over half the bottle of whiskey, 20mg promethazine, 1mg diclaz and 3mg etizolam I slept until shortly after noon and woke up feeling fresh as a daisy.

I've since enhanced the freshness with a cheeky quarter-line of gear, but it feels good to have caught up on sleep (and not be dead, of course, if swampy's reading).

Feel like I've missed out on half of Saturday though. Admittedly it's the half which I would've spent getting stoned and wanking.

Thought you were unable to drink.. or have you stopped the meds? smack booze and benzos i assume is a lovely combo.. the times i mixed oxy with booze and a minimal amount of benzos it was very nice

Currently drinking henry westons cider, this stuff hits me pretty hard.. am liking this. minimal sleep for 2 days, on summers lappy at the mo shes just gone to bed for a bit. felt tired earlier, tbh shoulda tried sleeping for a bit. nevermind sod it, plenty of time for sleeping
 
Unable to drink? Nah. I just can't drink as much as I used to.

I did stop for a few months, but that was for personal reasons, having seen what it can do. I'm never going to let myself get back to where I was though, so the odd dram is fine.

I would never, ever stop the meds. Life's so much easier and the world is a different place.
