I disagree... they were already pretty lenient in giving him multiple warnings, which he seemed to acknowledge albeit briefly.

I mean you are right... he didn't know any better but it was getting pretty irritating for the rest of us.

Agreed.

He was doing it quite deliberately from what I could gather - he's a nice guy whom I have a lot of time for, but he does have his attention-seeking moments, and embeds are one way of getting attention at whatever cost.

Maybe posting that list of chemicals he'd bought was a similar bid for attention - I don't know.

I've just been suspended for alleged "gross misconduct". I'm not a member of a union, but could do with some representation in fighting my case. I've got a good reason for doing what I did (pretty much just following orders from above) but it looks like my manager is gonna save her own arse instead of coming clean.


Anyone know how to get some kind of representation without being an established member of a union?
 
Thanks fellas. It's a call centre so the word of my colleagues is worth very little. I don't work on the phones myself, but the naughty school children management style still unfortunately prevails.

Thanks for the links, gonna have a read now. Already emailed the CWU so hopefully they'll have some words of advice.

tell yer boss your going to take them to a tribuniral for wrongful dismissal of some type - get a solicitors letter for 25 quid and see how it goes - it costs them quite a few £k's to go thro court so you could at least walk away with a nice bunce
