Hello.
I have a question.
I usually grow an auto or two in my garden during the summer. Its pretty discrete, they are surrounded other plants. Discrete but not invisible.
Thing is over the winter I have fallen out with my neighbours on one side. Shouting, swearing, banging on doors etc etc. Have tried to build bridges but they are holding a grudge
They are bitter, bored, and old. Curtain twitching fuckwits with too much time on their hands. Pretty sure every street has a couple like this.
Anyway.

My question is : if they call the fuzz and tell them about me plants will they give a shit ?

Has anyone here had a knock at the door because of snitchy neighbours ?

I suspect one phone call isn't enough to make the police bother to get a warrant. Worse case scenario could be they take a photo and show that down the station, but I kinda think that when they see its they're only about a meter tall they'll be even less interested... or is that wishful thinking ?

Entirely depends where you live. Middle of London? No problem. Somewhere where cops have nothing better to do? Chop 'em down.

I was just thinking today, while standing at the taxi rank, and seeing how different people either got in the front or the back, what's everybody's view on taxi etiquette? Do you sit in the front or the back?

If I'm alone I'll always get in the front, unless it's a black cab. If I'm with friends I'll sit in the back with them, unless I know the taxi driver as I'm friends with a few. If there's just enough room for all of us, I have no problem sitting in the front. If I'm alone and really drunk, I'll sometimes sit in the back pretending to be half sleeping up until before he reaches my destination.

I find sitting in the back awkward if I am alone and don't really find it awkward if I'm in the front and there's silence. There's usually roadworks somewhere in order to complain about how long it takes them to do things in this country, compared with places like Japan.

So, am I doing it wrong?

I would also like to add that, while getting a taxi tonight, the driver was regaling me with a story which included, ''He left her face looking like a painter's radio''.
