I think he's probably pretty pissed off about his recent bannings and doesn't feel like posting any time soon. At least he's alive though. What about foolsgold, though? is he still with us?

He posted in the Tunes Thread but a couple hours ago. Does nobody actually read threads anymore? Y'all do know you can just check a member's profile to see when they last logged in and did stuff, yes? Maybe not but now you do - probably quicker than starting a thread or asking in here and waiting for somebody to answer too.
 
Some people baffle me... which is nothing new humanity is baffling.... but thats the 2nd time in a few days ive been random and messing around saying shit im blatantly joking and been taken seriously... once in person by someone whos known me years and once online by someone ive spoken to for a lil while.... pfff... if people cant tell when im messin about then they can take it whichever way they want... kinda couldnt give a shit... either that or i should stop being a random fucker... which i dont really intend to do. altho i do kinda like getting a reaction outta people sometimes. altho im kinda reminding myself of slightly sarcastic people that i cant tell wether theyre being serious or not, which gets on my tits... maybe im becoming a person that would have pissed me off. which is odd. or maybe my speedy slightly sleep deprived brain is ticking around a bit too much. but am currently half fuckered and couldnt give much of a shite

Stay Random Dan <3...you gotta remember that people's moods swing and we all do drugs..this in itself makes sometimes funny or cheeky banter which is meant mean something else to that's persons state of mind. Also humour, inflection of tone in RL can be lost in typed expressions..<3

Truthquoted. This really is something that everybody who posts and/or reads BL stuffs should always bear in mind. People do post here in all kindsa states and we all know how various chemicals can affect one's inhibitions and filters. Normally things get forgotten or overlooked but here there is record of them. It's always worth stopping to think whether a post maybe seems out of character or was made at 3am or is one of a flurry of similar posts - it's often possible to see that somebody is just off on one and will no doubt be fine the next day or whenever they come down but not always and I'd suggest it's better to give benefit of the doubt until you know otherwise. Could save an awful lot of drama and hurt/bad feelings.

I dislike the use of the word 'random' in this context but if that's what you're calling it stick with it cos works just fine for me, Dan.

ermmm.... Guess it depends case to case, but suicide threats are, many times, just a front for someone who won't actually do it. From my observances anyway.

You're getting quite snip-happy recently, Shamster. Maybe it's for the best.... But it's giving room for my dream of "TOR eadd".

I want to create my own EADD forums, through TOR, for members to anonymously post on an unmoderated EADD forum.

We can discuss all those issues that you secretely wanted to talk about, but were never allowed too because of the ole "Harm Reduction" emphasis.

EADD TOR will contain threads like "So, if ya gonna kill urself what drug combo will you use?" and have controversial threads like "Was Knock's demodding a contribution to his death"? Things that can't be discussed here. Also all the personal slanging matches will be allowed to take place, with no holds barred.

The only foreseeable problem with eadd tor (apart from members learning and killing themselves in the suicide thread) is that it will be so damn cool, it will nullify the current forum, steal it's custom-base and render it vacant.






And admins if you are reading this and feel somewhat threatened by the idea and are considering permanently excluding me from this site forever more, please note I value this site to an extent and this post is nothing that a "never mention it ever again" and maybe a donation or two can't fix ;)

You're one of many to have had that idea over the years. Was a similar situation in PD too years back. One of the ex/mods actually tried to create a "breakaway PD" where sources would be discussed and complete freedom of speech would reign imperious. Lasted all of a week I think. Actually I don't think it even got that far. There is a fundamental problem with these ideas and that is that EADD is part of a wider community and that provides many benefits not present in a small, new, homemade forum. I'm sure it's perfectly doable to create such a thing as you describe, problem is several already exist so why choose yours over those? And why are the existing ones not very widely used in comparison to BL? Forums live and die on content and EADD has over a decade of content and experience to draw on along with a potential membership in the hundreds of thousands. Somebody starting a new knock-off "naughty EADD" would not be competing with EADD - they'd be competing with all the other less-moderated, more sourcey forums out there. They are all rather small affairs from what I've seen which makes for distinctly desert-like threads much of the time - I suspect the reality is unlikely to live up to the dream but do feel free to have a crack at it. There's room for all - internet is a big ol' place apparently and nothing stopping members from contributing to multiple forums if they so wish :)

Dunno if I'd say I was snip-happy as such. I've edited no more than a couple dozen posts at most since recent modding that I recall. Not that my memory counts for much but it really ain't that many. As I said, time and place. I'm sure you can see that what you said could easily be misinterpreted or taken the wrong way and that would not be helpful. A lil thought and sensitivity goes a long way.

I don't think people really realise how much passion and effort it takes to keep EADD as lightly moderated as it is sometimes. We are part of a wider site and we do agree to abide by certain standards when we become members - not just the BLUA but also the EADD Forum Guidelines (and a recent reminder and precis of some of the more salient points of the latter stickified just recently too cos people seem to have forgotten or never knew in the first place). All three are but a scanty and short page apiece - hardly War & Peace and will take all of a minute or two of your time to read each. Is worth doing cos will save complaints about Nazi modding (hopefully) if people actually stayed within the rules. Mods don't make the rules but we do have to enforce them like it or not. And I would suggest we have it a lot freer in here than is the case with almost any other subforum on the site.
