Im here yea.

Because of the things he wrote in his thread, don't think he is in a good state these days. Have emailed him many times + sum pm's, no answers tho' last time I got a email from him was thursday.. Hope he just contact sum body, maybe he has, I don't know, or know where he is.

It's more of the fact that the shit new djs are getting to play again purely because they managed to draw in a crowd (ie bring loads of mates), whereas if a new dj actually has some talent and potential but doesn't fill out the club they don't get asked back.

They can get unpaid practice in their bedroom, or at a house party. I think that's his point.

Yeah true, but thats kind of like the difference between rehearsals and actually doing something live in front of paying punters, where the equipment might be different (i dont know FA about putting on this sort of thing as you can probably tell) as would the atmosphere and the nerves would probably be higher. You would probably need to go through that experience to learn to deal with it/enjoy it.

I understand what you're suggesting, but it's relatively easy to get that experience and still get paid. Or at least not have to do all the promotion legwork for the person who's going to be creaming off the cash.

Did Black Flag die in vain or something? :(

Maybe things are different in discoville. I doubt it though.

Would love to be a DJ, should never have bothered with guitar and got some decks instead
