The help from the government for those flooded has been piss poor as well. I'd be be angry at them if I was flooded and had no help for weeks.
Glad I don't work in London either with the strikes going on the tubes.
I can't believe that some folk pay 5-6k for season tickets to commute into London. Would have to be a bloody good job to make it worth yr while paying those prices.
My favorite day,PMQ's at midday. I take a shot each time Cameron says hard working people(families), wanker

Hey Everyone, Hope your all ok and your week going well.

Loved Muscat and can't wait to go back for a longer break it's an absolutely gorgeous place (no doubt photos will follow :D).

Safe

Yeah - even with the London premium that employers pay out, it's barely worth it. That city is just not sustainable, and it's happening elsewhere too.

Most of the people who make the city tick (and I don't mean the bankers, wankers and braces brigade) can't afford to live within the city. Or if they can, it's in third-world standard housing owned by buy-to-let parasites who just don't give a fuck about anything but the rising value of their 'investment'.

What a country we live in...

You lucky lucky man. From pictures I've seen in the past it is a paradise there.

Always wanted to visit Oman, nice choice of destination Bearlove.

Just had another 50mgs of the AH, growing quite fond of it :|

Now I have to empty the basement as tomorrow the recycling people are coming to pick up some metal pipes, parts of furniture and other heavy stuff, will take me hours and it's cold and rainy, might have another cheeky dab to motivate me.

But hey I just noticed a red squirrel has set up a nest on the maple tree in the garden, awesome, love those critters.

Had good brekkie as well today, beef sausages cooked in red wine.

Hope you're all good

Welcome back.

From what I've read it is all rich Russian & French people buying the properties in London and now with the bedroom tax they can start moving the poor to the outskirts of the city thus making more room for the rich.
As you said Sam, what a country we live in.

Can't trust tories, can't trust Labour. What is a man to do?
Speaker of the house pissed off cos his wife caught snogging some other bloke.

Fucking weird morning, i woke up at 9.30, felt quite awake and thought I'll just stay awake but lie in the warmth for a bit longer. I thought i had stayed awake for about 10 minutes before getting up but by then it was 11.30. I'd better not do this tomorrow as i now have 2 job interviews lined up, one in the late morning and one in early aftrenoon. There should be time to get from one place to the other without stress, but there is an intermittent fault with my car, that disappeared once the AA turned up, so of course if he couldnt see any problem, there was nothing he could do to fix it. I am slightly worried about the fault recurring again tomorrow.

Good old Price Charles literally waded into the village that has been marooned by the floods for over a month. When asked if more should have been done to help them he said "you may very well think that, i couldnt possibly comment." I really like the way he's not supposed to say anything political or even supposed to talk about his views on anything remotely serious like architecture and town planning and stuff, but he does anyway. He's a bit of a maverick Prince, he really seems to genuinely care about things and continually speaks out despite it not being correct political protocol.

The one thing I have ever thought was clever to come from his mouth was his comment on Brutalist architecture:
"You have to give this much to the Luftwaffe; when it knocked down our buildings, it didn't replace them with anything more offensive than rubble".
I don't really agree (I actually think some of the neo-brutalist architecture in Central/Eastern Europe is breathtakingly beautiful), but I have to give it to him, it was a pretty pithy line.

He is a clever man, even Bob Geldof said so in his autobiography, that he was very intelligent. I loved it when he said on mic under his breath 'i really hate that little man, i cannot abide him' about the BBCs royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell. I wonder what Witchell had done to upset Charlie, the fact that Witchell has kept his job must presumably mean he hadnt done anything wrong, and Charles possibly just hates him as part of the media flock, which may irritate him, especially after Diana's death, and the way he seemed to be portyayed very badly in the light of all of that media glare at that time.

I have no time for the royal family, it will have cost 10s of £1000s just to get him there and provide security etc, not to mention he has an obscene amount of money. If they really cared they would give back the money they have hoarded to the people, whilst they live in palaces with servants and the trappings of their kind, they should get nothing but contempt.

....just sayin:D
