quite a difference. niki manaj, that fucking "call me maybe" tune and various other absolute shit all the time. i havent heard much trancey house stuff on there

lol, no, she wouldn't come out on a boat like that, I've borrowed the boat before and taken her and me son out ona little motor round the bay, but it's very stripped down, just built for fishing, always stinks of fish/bait...there's livebait wells, couple of cushions, couple of hard seating bits below deck, the only nod to luxury is a tiny two ring stove....she doesn't like to go more than a coupe of miles offshore either in a boat that size.

Boat that goes cross-Channel, Aquafish 23.

Orkney Fastliner, this one we never go out more than 25 miles on, even on a calm day, even then we get commercial fisherman looking at like we're fuckin mental.

My mates with boats have some stupid old wive's type tale about never taking women out on boats cos they kill the fishing apparently...same with bananas, won't let you on board with a banana, :? , I know :/ ..

No alcohol on board, sometimes take a couple of beers with us just for when we unloading and washing the deck down at the end of the day, but no, not really sensible to be havin a skinful 35 miles out on a 23 foot boat =D.

Obviously I'm stoned and possibly on a meph afterglow most the time....

EDIT>>>>Marine National Parks, great idea in theory, but can really fuck up people who work the sea in that area. A more sensible approach to the quota system for commercial fisherman woiuld make more sense IMO....either limit boats to a number of days/hours fishing per year, or give them a quota based on weight of ALL fish caught, so anything they catch will be landed, and counted against their quota.

this will eliminate bycatch, and encourage skippers to target species more carefully.

Also increaese the minimum landing size for bass.

That said, cod fishinghas improved year on year for the last 5 years, certainly from our, recreational, point of view.

Also, there already a number of no fish zones in place in our bit of coast, we've regularly been out and seen commercial trawlers/scallopers dredging over no-fish reefs...we thought of photographing them, but with no fucking landmarks in sight you're just taking a photo of a boat i the sea, could be anywhere....

I have often wondered the same. The only time I've been able to ask someone properly was at an after-party venue, the answer was "It was here when we got the place". Next time I went it had ran out, they had no idea how to go about getting it refilled & didn't really seem interested tbh.
