Gibberings CCXII -- It's all about the length of the pocket clip .....

A little light pottering around the related linkies reminded me that ketamine (and I think MXE has just begun to be studied too) is showing promising results for what we have anecdotally known for years - minor miracledrug when it comes to antidepressant effects.

The whole area of medical/therapeutic use of psychedelics is looking very positive of late but I'm possibly even more excited by the apparent interest in using psychedelics to investigate consciousness. It's one thing to have grudging acceptance of physical uses (cluster headaches, etc) another to have grudging acceptance of the emotional uses (depression, PTSD, etc) but delving into the far more abstract world of consciousness study is pretty much a whole new world of potential discoveries. So far very few tools have shed any light on the mysteries of consciousness so it really is encouraging to see psychedelic tools starting to be investigated.

PS: No link found between psychedelics and psychosis - again, anecdotal evidence is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of the studies... but it's great to see the studies starting to catch up.

I'll be honest and say I've never heard of Ivor Biggun before!

But I had a great time and got invited back by people there! Also got a marriage proposal. My lucky stars like!

^ Not sure if a marriage proposal after a second ukelele night is considered good luck or something along the cusp of chancer/stalker - romance may, of course, be alive and kicking in ukeleleland ;)

Ivor Biggun - Ukelele Lady

Take a toke of wackybaccy,
And make a hippy happy.

=D

Here's my favourite Ivor Biggun: The Charabanc Trip. Not really a song, more of a monologue .....

That one is firmly in my Top 5 =D

Your biocomputer status suggested this one to me - Ivor Biggun - Two Thirds of Four Fifths - got binary in it and everything 8o

The rest is pure smut as ever, naturally =D

For those that don't know Ivor Biggun, if of A Certain Age you may recall a fella going by the name of Doc Cox who used to have a bit on That's Life - that would be a somewhat less funny incarnation of the same fella... although still usually the funniest bit on That's Life, naturally :o

The other 1/3 of 1/5 of you are far too young to remember any of this, naturally :!

I read an article on the BBC news site today at work about Brian Cox (the physicist) on a panal show shooting down some Australian MP-elect who was running on a climate change denial platform, this was the article with the video I just couldn't help myself take a couple of screen grabs and do this though when I saw the thumnails!

A big cock was pretty much Brian Cox's correct opinion of the poor dude! It's worth watching the video just to see how flustered the 'sceptic' gets when he say's there's no scientific evidence for man made climate change, before Cox whips out his graph of scientific evidence and waggles it in his face and makes him squirm.

whenever I have modafinil at work I always end up getting distracted messing about like this once i've finished my work instead of being a lazy bastard like usual

It's very quiet in here these days...

It's different. Yes it is quieter but so many of us have have been hacked in to-poor bastard who had a play with my machine one night must have nearly nodded off or considered drinking a bottle of bleach at the banality and inanity of anything they found. Unless they find a few photo's of my friends and I at various points of our lives dressed in ridiculous glittery clothes, wigs sitting round fires particularly enthralling.

Fuck abstinence is almost as weird as being free falling fast or slow on chem trails.....I have fallen rather spectacularly off my wagon....got credit card in my mitt might book some flights and buy some alpacas.

Off to turn Evan up and look for some moonshinnne................

Was indeed a hilarious interaction - but why our national broadcaster gives airtime to that climate sceptic racist fuckhead (he's from a party that make UKIP look vaguely rational) is beyond me.

Anyway, speaking of politics, to anyone that's ever wondered -

How to make a Lounge Troll have a sook (for a month), i've compiled these three easy steps, which i encourage - nay, implore - my EADD brothers and sisters to follow.

1. Go to this thread
2. Tick the box next to "Droppersneck"
3. Click "vote"

Then enjoy the butthurt as this sad little person is banned from the Lounge for a month.
It's for a good cause, folks. <3

Are you sure he wouldn't take up residence here?

I think the possible uses have been under investigation ever since the hysteria about psychedelics died down. I think some of the difficulty for practical use is how variable the effects are in each patient-there can't be a standardized dose and "set and setting" would be pretty difficult to control.

Evening all. How's tricks for you reprobates? That's a high compliment BTW.
