Milibands view is kind of astonishing. He's obviously so pissed off at losing seats to the SNP but doesn't seem to equate that with the fact it's his own loyal voters he is losing and rather than try to reconcile with them (by sharing power with the SNP) he wants to punish them in some way instead.

yeah it did surprise me, I figured he was just saying that to placate his english voters who are scared of the evil SNP. Labour are just finished in Scotland, using the imbecile Jim Murphy as leader helped undo them.

There is a case to make for social democracy? I thought they were just a bunch of liberal cunts who wanted to enforce the status quo, just make it a little fluffier for the proles. Not too comfy mind, or they might start getting ideas; just enough to keep them in line.

You need to look at the times that posts are made, and realise that this is not a linear conversation. It's a fucking mashup of drunken/drugged people posting when they can. I in no way would agree with or ever use the phrase "immigrant cunts" and I don't think swedger genuinely meant that literally.
I'm perfectly happy to have my unconscious racism challenged. I was born in 1970 and was subject to the same cultural influences as everyone else at that time, and I recognise the fact that I am not the 100% perfect person that I'm supposed to be. I've been working on that since my teenage years, and I'm happy with where I am right now.
Knee-jerk reactions to discussions of race don't help anyone.

I genuinely don't understand the mindset of people who spoil their vote. People who actually leave their house, make their way to the polling station, draw a cock on a piece of paper (or whatever), and then go home.
The only motivation I can think of is that it gives people a tiny frisson of excitement when the quantity of spoiled papers is read out. "245 spoiled ballot papers - LOL one of those was mine!" 8(

Get a life? Some people want to show that they want to be represented, but they don't feel that any of the candidates are suitable. Without a "None of the above" option spoiling your paper is the only way to go about it. Sadly it gets you lumped in with the people who spoil it accidentally, but if you have faith in the system it's better than sitting at home not voting.
