Naw ^^

But you did paint a pretty strong mental image. Could have made the same point if you left out the part 'orange' before walks. Just sayin.

@Sammy G

I was just making the point that just because you support 'queen and country' doesnt necessarily make you the most likely to be racist than any other cunt.

I didn't even know that Hibs had similar "walks" and I dunno what that's got to do with anything. :? You're uncle's a Hibs fan and a massive racist? So what. They're everywhere.

Anyway, we're heading off to our local BNP gathering in the town centre to stock up on posters and stuff. Oh, wait - I meant SNP. Oops. ;)

What's wrong with hating the Queen?

I grew up in a house where the TV was turned off every time she appeared, but I was never encouraged to be a bigot. A Republican, aye, but not a bigot.

I don't like the Queen especially after how Princess Diana was treated, who I met once doing gymnastics when I was aged 7.

I'm voting SNP, not because I'm a nationalist (I'm not atall) but because the referendum I voted YES in left me feeling disenfranchised.

Also I want to stick it to the eton boys club establishment.

As i understand it, racism is a conscious political philosophy or belief in superiority on the basis of race. Most of what gets called racism is actually xenophobia - xenophobia, being a fairly natural human behaviour based on ignorance and fear, is less of a problem because it is usually defeated over time with increased knowledge and experience of the 'other' in question (like when you get enough 'black friends' to not need to mention it anymore) - there's a 'cure' for xenophobia/ignorance: spreading knowledge/understanding (racism, being an ideology (mindworm), is much harder to 'cure'). The problem is when actual conscious racists (like hitler, the uk state or murdoch) build mass movements using race/religion to tap into that unthinking xenophobia before that can happen.

I know the term racist is now used in a general way to refer to any xenophobic language, action or person, even if it's not consciously based on a racist philosophy (like the word facsist), but it's still helpful to make the distinction because it helps isolate the real culprits in suits behind the scenes (the sun-owners, rather than the sun-readers if you like).

You certainly don't need to be racist to be in ukip or want to stop immigration - it's more a case of missing where the real problem is (clue: it's not where farridge and the 3 right wing parties say it is)

A politics thread turning nasty in only a few pages?.....

Who'd have predicted that? :)

Edit....is there still a Monster Raving Loony Party?....what ever happened to Screaming Lord Such?

tory labour and libdem politicians are just talking heads spouting out boilerplate rhetoric and wilfully deceiving people. They are not to be trusted. Libdems are sellouts.

All of them are from the same background and the same schools and have the same circles of cronies that they really run the government for.

I cant believe the /crap/ I hear from naive tory voters banging on about how benefit claimants are the ccause of all the countries woes.

The real theives are the tax dodging bastards si[phoning money out of the economy to their offshore banks.

Crossed wires mate, don't worry about it. :)

Anyway, we are now fully stocked up on big posters and SNP bunting. There were even some brown faces at our local SNP gathering this afternoon, and I didn't get the impression that they were left out. Sorry if that makes me a massive racist again, somehow. :p

Brown faces, more like a ginger with one big freckle:p;)

i saw my local tory candidate today, standing under a poster of his name and being roundly ignored by everyone as they walked past him to the snp people who had a huge crowd and a very jovial atmosphere.

i believe ed milliband will come crawling to the snp with his tail between his legs on may 8th, i cant believe he would give up the chance of being in government to let the tories have another 5 years.
