It was a continuation of the joke "wob", which was a typo in his first post. There, I've spelt out the joke for you.

Uhh yeah, I understood what was going on there; I was talking to him, not you. Anyway.

"I've quit the Labour Party because of its anti-business agenda" - Lord CuntFace Sugar, today.

It was surprising news to me that that fat rich cunt was a member of the Labour Party in the first place. I'm sure he's perfectly happy with the result of the election.

As a rule of thumb, I wouldn't say Vurtual is racist.

I know that doesn't make sense, but I just wanted to use "rule of thumb" in a sentence. ;)

@Vurtual, I see you used the phrase "Beyond the pale" ..... Might that not sound just a touch on the racist side?

I could launch into a tirade about the origins of that particular phrase, but it'd be both tenuously-relevant (at best) and widely ignored (for certain).

It's not one I ever say, but I accept that it's fallen into common usage and lost its original meaning almost entirely.

Okay. The word 'pale' in French / Middle English meant 'boundary' or (more literally) fence.

In the early days of English 'rule' in Ireland (i.e. when only nominal authority was exercised outside of a tiny area controlled by the English), the area under foreign jurisdiction was called 'The Pale', which roughly corresponded to present-day Dublin and surroundings. There was actually a 'pale' (fence) erected in order to keep the natives out.

Anything 'beyond The Pale' was considered to be savage, uncivilised and to be avoided if at all possible.

I'd not even thought about it before (and cursory googling suggests it has nothing to do with skin colour) but now you mention it it does sound racist. Though i'm all for not saying something if it's obviously prejudiced and will cause offence (and having it pointed out to me if i don't know), i don't think this is it.

EDIT - ahh yes sam, a fence, probably related to pallisade

I've just asked my Westminster MP to ask for square sausage in a roll in the canteen on FB =D

He's a local lad <3

The local social media stuff is amazing up here, non stop talking!

If i was going to be a racist, i'd be human racist "bloody australopithecus, coming over ere with their stone tools..."

But i can't because all the people i meet are actually nice (even the horrible ones, they just haven't realised it yet) (i know, bloody hippy)

Back in the day, *cough cough*, I used to order the options in the way I expected them to come in, so they would form an orderly triangle with the most popular at the top, leading down to zero at the bottom. It used to annoy me when BLOODY PEOPLE didn't vote the way I predicted. ;)

Also DID YOU KNOW you can insert an image as a poll option?

Yes. Just put in the usual image tags etc. and it'll show up as a picture. Try it. :)

This is getting out of hand, Pythagoras..:p
