Not a very good idea to be carrying around junk/needles whether they are used or not. Just last week I got nailed for Loitering for Narcotics, as I was parked on my girlfriend's street, which is in a heroin infested part of town. I was parked on her street waiting for her to get home, a cop came by, questioned me about why I was sitting there, and I had explained to him that I was waiting for my girlfriend to get home from work. (They were D.Ts) They found one sealed needle from Rite-Aid in my car, even with the pamplet that says it is completely legal to own and possessA needle as long as you have the flier which is given to you at Rite-Aid(and that it's not used, obviously). I didn't have any junk on me, just the one needle. When he found it, he searched my entire vehicle, found nothing as far as used paraphenalia, no drugs, nothing. Still, I got written up for loitering for narcotics, when I was waiting about 2 houses down parked from my girlfriend's house. Which was absolutely bullshit. I couldn't do much of fighting it in court, but they ended up dropping it to an open container. I didn't even HAVE an open container in my car. They just found one sealed 31g needle with the pamplet. Just goes to show you these cops will get you whatever way they can.
Now, whenever I goto score, I leave all of my gear home and just wait till I get to a safe place(my home) in order to set-up and bang. I know this really doesn't pertain to your thread, but when I was hiding all of my junk(on the go), I would hide it under my spare-tire in the trunk of my car and to my surprise, not one cop has found it there, and I've been pulled over multiple times, and had my car searched. The area my girlfriend lives in is very big on heroin distribution, so they take no chances. Regardless, it's a bullshit $100 fine that I have to pay when they found nothing illegal. I even gave them my girlfriend's address which was literally 100ft away from where I was parked. I told the cop "Do you really think I'd be sitting here waiting to score with my girlfriend's house literally a stone throw away, when she doesn't even know I use the junk? He didn't seem to care.
Then it turns out, the real reason they pulled me over was because they were looking for a gun. Yeah, a 25 yr old skinny white-boy is going to carry a gun. First of all, I don't even have a pistol permit, or a conceal/carry one to go with it. So anyway like I said, they searched my car. I should of been let off with a warning. I fully cooperated and let them search my vehicle, pat me down, took off my socks, it was like they got more and more frustrated when they couldn't find anything. It was almost funny. The cops were a bunch of real assholes but I understand their stance as well. They're trying to get a gun off the streets, and this section my girlfriend lives in, like I said, is known for narcotics distribution and it's in a school zone.. so they really are out in force.
And the funny thing? The cop passed me and only saw me for literally 30 seconds,. He was coming the other way as I was parked, passed me, and then left. Then proceeded to pull behind me, hit his light, and ask me to step out of the car. Then on the ticket he wrote "Defendant was parked in this location for the purpose of obtaining narcotics for no less than 20 minutes. How in the hell do you know I was sitting there for 20 minutes? You don't. And because I wasn't. I literally was there for about 5 minutes. And I wasn't there to obtain narcotics! I guess just because they nail a couple people doing it, they have to assume everyone is doing the same thing.
Pretty fucking stupid if you ask me, not to derail or anything. So I have to get hit with a $100 fine for an open container when there was none in my car. You can't make a case against me for having an un-opened syringe with the pamplet stating that it is fully 100% legal to be in possession of one. Just doesn't make sense. Oh well.
But back on topic...in my early days...
If I knew I was going out, and I was planning on banging up while I was out, I would set up two rigs at home. Cap them up, and store them inside of a secret department in my car. Usually I could make a quick stop(I have big easy to hit veins), register, and hit the mark. Then I would break the tip off that needle, throw it in a soda bottle, as well as the rig, and dispose of it in the nearest trash I could find. If I was going out to score, I would never bring a needle/cotton/spoon with me. I'd just wait until I got home. It was only about a 15m ride to the dope spot anyway.
I always break the tip off the needle when I goto dispose of it. Then I'll take the soda bottle with the rig in it that I had used, and trash it. I know that isn't exactly the safest thing to do, but I don't have a sharps container, and as long as the needle is broken off, cap put back on and in a soda bottle, that's the closest thing I've come up with to staying safe. Believe me, the last thing I want is some person coming across it and thinking "Hey, what's this!". That's why I insure the needle is completely taken out so there is nothing to stab themselves with. With my money going towards drugs/bills now a days, I can't justify buying a sharps container. I don't use overly much anymore anyway. I use a bundle one day a week, and usually use about two needles for the 10-sack.
If a sharp container is really the way to go...is there anyway I can make my own? Or should I just swing by a local health facility, and drop it off in the box they usually leave outside? Again, no needle point attached.
Edit: Oh, and the funny thing.. The cop said to me "I'm going to give you a number of our narcotics agent. I want you to call him, if you want to help yourself out. I never called him, because I knew the cop was lying out of his asshole, and trying to have me admit to something I wasn't doing. When I showed up in court, the provided attorney even told me "The cops lied about this, but we're going to have to hit you with a fine, as unfair as it is..it's just the way the justice system works. So what we're going to do is give you an "Open container violation. It's $100 bucks, no record of it, I'd just pay it. It sucks, and this kind of stuff happens all the time, but from the report...no illegal drugs were found in your car and you were within your right to be in possession of that syringe, because it was still stealed in the package, and you had the pamplet. That's completely legal, so it can't be used against you for any reason. Since there were no narcotics in the car, for all we know that syringe could of been for your elderly grandmother with diabetes."
