I was wondering to myself if there was a thread on Game of Thrones on BL. I had to know somewhere deep down that there just had to be.
I've read most of the books. A little bummed out on this season just because I read ahead in the books and was devastated about a certain character (won't name names) dying.

I was initially surprised Arstan immediately revealed himself but then realized that in the book Dany doesn't know what he looks like. But we do, so it would have been a dead give away. It was a good call, ultimately

The giant and the dragons looked pretty great. CGI, all around looks a step up. The shot of Drogon(?) tossing and roasting the fish was awesome.

The only change they made that bugged me was cutting out the whole Arstan angle. No Belwas. Sucks.
No Sorrowful Men, either. Just a demon warlock child. The manticore was cool, though.

The other thing that's bordering on comical is that the writers/adapters would change the details of The Unsullied's training from they had to raise a puppy and then after a year kill it to, they had to go and pay for a baby and murder it. More acceptable/palatable?

Just picking nits.

In the book, both are mentioned. They raise a puppy and then after a year kill it, but they also kill a baby child.

I actually think they should have left the bit with the puppies in, but also keep the bit with the babies. Both are important to show the training of the unsullied - the babies show that they'll kill anyone on command, no matter how innocent, and the puppies show that they'll kill anything on command, no matter what their relationship is.

and actually, the best part of the episode was Catelyn's speech. before she even said his name I knew she was talking about Jon Snow. it made me a Catelyn believer, which is something the books could never do.

Just caught the first two episodes of Season 3. What episode is the US up to?

Slow start, I thought. Although that was the case with Season 1 as well. Not much really grabbing my attention at the moment.

Disappointing amount of nudity also.

I mentioned it a while back but, I read a article about the filming of the Red Wedding. One of the people they spoke to said he observed what he thought was a head being sewn to a ox. The articles writer surmised that the observer was a ways away from the actual set and what he saw was actually the R Stark/Grey Wind defilement. Seems they went all out in the horror of it all department.

I hope Danaerys is up to something and that she's not just being a stupid teenager. I hate it when shows leave you to think for an entire week that one of your favorite characters is a moron.

I really liked the scenes with The Blackfish, Edmure, and Robb. Always nice to see Catelyn listening and not talking.
That scenario between Jaime, Brienne and the Brave Companion's, now Dreadfort men, was one of the more shockingly enjoyable chapters in the books. IMO. I thought they did a really good job with it. I do wish he'd screamed louder.

Really looking forward to the appearance of Dondarrion and his duel with the Hound. I wonder if they're gonna skip the chapter where Jon and Ygritte are down in the caves? That would be..... Disappointing. For her to die without a nude scene.
I don't completely get the Ramsey/Theon thing. I followed up until they pulled his pants off. I thought they were gonna snip him right there, which would have worked fine. Rape?? And, I don't get killing his own men like that. I'd still assume he's leading him back to(?) the Dreadfort.

I still don't like the girl they chose to play Meera, but otherwise the new cast members are pretty great.
Ciarian Hinds, I think, is a fine Mance. Thoros, Jojen, Blackfish, Edmure, Tormund, Missandei.... All very good.
