Gambling Thread (No flames plz)

Just played in a poker tournament, 1000 entrants, $33 entry fee, I got down to the final table, in the last 7, and had A10, so I raised preflop, got reraised and I called. The flop gave me my 10 so I bet, was raised, then I shoved all in for lots more than the pot was, the other player called with AQ, not even a pair and he hit his queen on the river to knock me out. I still won $1000 which is going to go a long way to helping my debt problems, so all in all it was a good tournament, but I would have been leading the tournament if I had won that hand and been on for the $5,700 first prize or even the $4,000 second prize. Never mind eh, it was fun. Lasted about 7 hours though. Good hourly rate $1000 profit over 7 hours. :D

DO NOT GAMBLE IT. You are not on a 'winning streak' or having a 'lucky day'. It's a happy combination of luck and skill.

PLEASE try not to spend it on drugs. :)
 
site rules dictate that I must wait at least 48 hours after my last deposit (which was today's entry fee) before I can withdraw. So I'll just keep like $100 in my account and withdraw $900 in 48 hours, it is not going back to pokerstars. It is coming to my bank account to help me with my finance problems, thats like £600 that I just won, I can't believe it. It took 7 hours of hard work and a bit of luck along the way, shame the luck ran out at the end or I could have been so much richer, the top 5 would have done a deal to get $2500 each most likely, so I missed out on that, but still it is a great win. My adrenaline glands have not been so active in a long time, it's like I'm high.

Now I can really afford to come to the fringe and sunflowerfest without having to be a superscrimper, I'll still have to be a slight scrimper but not as bad as I would have done, this also means I should be able to keep my ps3 :)

some people might remember my story a few months back, i ended up taking a shot at cash games and hyper turbo heads up games lost my whole 10k roll on pokerstars then ended up going into my savings! well.. i had like £2K too my name and thought shits about to get real, i multi tabled mtt's (which is what i made my money at) and ended up binking 3rd in the bigger $11 for $13,200 a month back and won the $1r 3x turbo micro millions event 10 for $11,600. relieved is not the word!
 
And what are you doing now? Still playing or quit?

I think I know what the answer will be already.
 
I remember your story mate, I can't believe you are still at it, some great results there. I've entered another tournament tonight but once my bankroll gets to $900 I'm quitting as that is the amount that I'm withdrawing. What's your pokerstars username Bare_head?? have you opted in for sharkscope to see your stats? I have and my username is mugabe101
 
Spade your right i am still playing , i have made a big withdrawl and i hope i can make a living out of this! if not, then at least i tried, i am banning myself from cash games above 100nl and basically gonna concentrate on mtt's.

I used to use 2p2 but dont anymore, am currently playing the big $55 on stars, only got $4000 after an hour but still doing ok. Check my sharkscope graph though, it's erratic as fuck, lol
 
i dont use sharkscope :o (I KNOW) I WILL HAVE A SEARCH FOR YOU NOW BUDDY GOT NOTHING ELSE BETTER TO DO TBH ONE TABLING THE BIGGER $11 HA!

too true spade, too true! ty though and i will give it my best shot! i am thinking of taking my offshore survival courses as one of my mates can get me out on the oil rigs but tbh i hate working i prefer being my own boss and being away at sea doesnt sound too appealing to me, though poker can be a very lonely "job" if u want to call it that
