From Sky News - "MPs Reveal Plans To Reform Drug Laws"

100 years ago you could've had your wish, Farmaz. Prohibition ain't been around forever. No reason to expect it to continue forever.

That link is crazy, I was born at the wrong time.
I bet the gear back then would have been as white as fresh snow & need no citric at all, just into the stera cup or spoon then watch it melt with the most little flame ever, stays pure liquid in the pin, as clear as spring water :)

The gear was in a gel form according to that linky. Never known of an opiate gel. Presumably intended for injection as they supplied the syringes too though. Almost makes the idea of being drafted to the trenches appealing - would be even more excited when the postie arrived than I am these days when waiting on me peev or summat =D

gouching...i don't really like gouching too much. i like feeling comfortable and able to function without breaking inot a cold sweat and laughing hysterically at everything, or getting really upset over things . i t actually makes me more realistic

I suspect the gouch (spelling correct afaik) issue was probably one of the reasons it fell foul of the law initially actually. Kinda like how the US government decided quite early on in their trials that MDMA probably wasn't the wisest choice of stimulants for the Vietnam war (even though methamphetamine has worked just dandily since WWII for all sides) and the like. Horses for courses innit.

you serious?.......

I find being in a gouch the best thing ever, all your worries go away, you feel all nice & warm in your body, you can have a really good sleep, no hunger, no pain, no worries in your mind, just true peace in your mind, body & soul for once.

maybe thats why I had a serious issue with heroin & still have what I call "ghosts of heroin" in my mind & soul though :\

EDIT - When I say gouche I mean in a proper eyes closed, head dropping, roll up falling from your hand state. Not just a little eyes closed then open again 20 seconds later. In the kind of state where you dont even notice the itch as your passed that stage & cant lift your arm to scratch anyway.

MDMA was actually tested by the Germans in the first world war, I wasn't aware the Americans tested it in Vietnam.

To be honest testing MDMA on troops in the trenches sort of explains why the Germans would bring christmas trees, booze and chocolate to the limeys during the christmas truce

Did you know the word 'Gouch' isn't in any of the accepted dictionaries for crosswords?

Somebody has submitted it to Collins as a suggestion for a new word, Chambers (the generally accepted dictionary for crosswords) doesn't have it and I'm pretty sure the OED doesn't either.

Outrageous.

So you can spell it how you like.

As the junkie is to the heroin user, is the gouch to the nod. Instructions and guidance on how to nod would play a central role in the treatment centres of a sharper society.

You should consider sending that to Chambers CC. And before you doubt me, here's their reference for eclair

a cake, long in shape but short in duration

Didn't mean to imply you're a junkie, farmaz - loved your Diana joke, btw - but the tragedy is nowadays it's hard enough to make a gouch, let alone a nod. It's only when users can access proper gear that they can find the useful state of mind in which they m may be 'helped' by the drug. Of course, in an ideal society they'd then come off and vand never feel the need to take it again. Like I say, we've a way to go yet.
